More shite ref screwing up the Costa Rica vs Canada match.

Sorry to those who are down tonight…but it’s still all sorts of hilarious.

Absolutely dire. I have no idea why FIFA is so dead set against using post hoc punishment to drive that nonsense out of the game.

Alisson played tonight as did Fabinho, the latter came off in what seems like the usual late sub as did Diaz.

Wonder if this means Ali doesn’t play next Tuesday as they usually rotate, maybe Taff isn’t a bad acquisition. Fabinho may also get a rest.

Hope you’re right.

Fuck them Italians. :joy:

Yes, they’re Europe’s answer to the Argentinians

As much as it warms my calous, frozen heart to see Italy fuck up their qualification (I still haven’t forgiven them for 2006 - cheating, diving bastards), I need to be cautious as Australia could still screw up qualification themselves - 3rd and 5 points behind Saudi Arabia with 1 game means we go into the play off against the 3rd place in Group A (any one of UAE, Iraq or Lebanon). And with Qatar as host, you just know the dirty currupt bastards at FIFA will want another Mid East team qualifying, so we will no doubt get screwed over with dodgy reffing decisions

Now I’m even more annoyed we lost to that lot In the Euro finals. Their goal was a pinball in the penalty area that went in

So, Italy have decided to boycott the Qatar world cup? Well done to them! :+1:

Still an outside chance for Colombia to nick the play off spot. It’s Peru vs Paraguay and if the Incas fail to win Colombia will only need to beat a returned to their normal level of shitness Venezuala to go ahead of them into 5th

But finishing 5th will mean a play-off against one of the 3rd place Asian teams, and if it ends up being UAE or Iraq, you know FIFA will screw them to ensure another Mid-East Gulf team gets in (they can’t risk having only Qatar as the 1 Gulf team there)

The Mexico-US scoreless draw was hysterical. Two absolutely stunningly bad misses from the US. The one from Pefok (remember the guy who scored that late winner for Young Boys against Utd) is one of the worst you’ll ever see. If it was Sunday league you’d drop him for the next game. But Mexico had two penalty appeals turned down, both for ridiculous dives after the attacker beat their defender and rather than taking the shot or squaring it across goal just threw themselves to the ground.

For the US, Berhalter doesnt seem to be doing too much to earn faith with the US fans though. Team looks pretty clueless.

One of the worst matches I’ve watched frankly. I am not a Berhalter fan at all. Think the US has way more talent than the level they constantly play at. Such an outdated coach, reminds me of Southgate frankly, though at least Southgate has a general identity with the English side. If the US ever wants to ascend the global NT stage they need to get rid of him. The talent gap between Mexico and US has never been wider

I will never not lol at this.

It’s strange how bad qualifying has been considering the Gold Cup was the most entertaining competition last summer

I was wondering why the pitch was so dark and the players were all standing at the sideline…Apparently the flood lights were out for a while at the Cameroon / Algeria match.

OG against Senegal. Mo shot at around the 6 yard spot, hit the crossbar and bounced off the leg of the defender into the net.
