I coach 17 year old girls so forgive me for not giving a flying fuck what could be proven in court. I coach a 17 year old girl, 15 at the time, who was groomed and sexually harrassed by a teacher (luckily the girl reported it before anything physical happened). I saw the strain it put on her to have to go through the legal process, the court appearances and having everyone at the school find out what happened. She even had some parents at an away game with our rival school shouting vile things at her. I saw how arduous and difficult that process was even when it was cut and dried - she had text messages and photographs from him. When it finally went to court, as a civil case, instead of being fired he had union lawyers who went to court for him and he kept his job with part of his defence being that she came onto him first. A 15 year old.
So I’m sorry but I don’t give a fuck what the courts say. I’ve seen first hand how women can be, and are, treated by the legal system. I believe the women. Mendy admitted to everything, he just did while muddying the waters enough to make it impossible to prove the multiple female accusers didn’t consent to being gangbanged.
