FIFA World Cup 2026 - USA/Canada/Mexico (Part 2)

not nice

Each World game is almost 101 minutes now.

I bloody love the update thing :joy:

Oh well off to bed…

Vini Jr again. :man_facepalming:

Again shot themselves in the foot

That is it. I am going to bed!

Scotland are utter dogshit

well shit

Has Scotland threatened Ali’s goal yet?

Because Hendry had the ball? Or at least was between Vini and the ball. Vini didn’t have the ball until after the contact. It was very poor by Hendry, but that’s beside the point, on balance I’d still say it was a foul.

Nope.

Sad thing is that’s probably the first proper chance Brazil have had.

It makes me feel like I’m stuck at Reading station and they keep announcing different excuses for why the Ariva train to Wales isn’t going to show up

I think its six of one, half dozen of the other. Vini gets his foot between the ball and Hendry’s kicking leg. Hendry then kicks him instead of the ball. You could argue Vini had already won possession.

But my larger contention is that getting VAR involved was not necessary. There is contact between the players, caused by the CB panicking under pressure and an excellent high press

It’s a shame the good play - a high press - was not rewarded in this instance. Not enough contact and not clear enough as a foul in my opinion to rule out a goal.

We’ve had several years of VAR now and I think its only made the sport worse unfortunately.

Oh wow it’s Lucas Levia

Lucas looks like he did in 2016.

ā€œSee it, say it, sortedā€

Contact wasn’t big but it was as Hendry was trying to play the ball and stopped him from kicking it. If it had just caused a stumble I don’t think VAR would have intervened.

With defenders like Hendry in Saudi Arabia its astonishing that Ronaldo isn’t scoring 60 a season.

This is a Yaya Sithole performance.

Don’t see the point going down like Patterson did there. If you are inhibited then fair enough but he isn’t he could have pushed on.
