Gee the Dutch and Morocco have drawn the short straw. Bit unlucky to meet in the 32 after both going well. I had them both down as the “smoky” to go deep in this WC.

If France get beaten by Norway tonight they’ll move to the right side of the tree where they could face the likes of Brazil, Argentina, England and Portugal.

Poor match but it was about the result. Paraguay were shite and should have had a crack instead of the fingers crossed 3rd place.
Mature performance defensively by the Aussies and the 18yo Herrington wow….how composed thought he was Virgil.
Bring on Mo or Courtois or even better the Kiwis.

Also a reasonable chance that a couple of 2nd placed teams could drop below Scotland.
Egypt to beat Iran and Spain to beat Uruguay would not be considered shock results
A real, real pity. The best fans of the tournament are heading home. Curse Germany for not taking their match against Ecuador more seriously. 
Edit: just realized that they aren’t out for good. Fingers crossed for them then!

Scotland fans are great but that’s neither here nor there. Their team has been terrible and if it heads home, it will be fully deserved.
The worse European team along with the Czechs and amongst the worst of the entire tournament.

In a purely sporting sense, I agree with you, they haven’t been great.
But in my humble opinion, such a tournament is all about the atmosphere in and around the stadia, and in that regard, taking a neutral perspective, Scotland are truly the best. I’ll miss them if they head home so early.

I am really going to miss the Scottish fans the most at this tournament. The fans were so lively and entertaining. I will miss the Norwegian fans to with their viking twist to it.
I love watching the fans from different countries bringing their culture to a tournament.

Having seen them being properly trounced by Switzerland of all teams, I don’t expect them to pull up many trees against Trumpland, but wish them all the best of course. They are sturdy, solid, but bereft of genuine firepower upfront these days.
But maybe Dzeko will be able to channel the player he once was for these 90 minutes, who knows…
The sense that society’s devotion to meaningless material possessions enslaves people. Probably.

As it stands, we get Iran in the next round and Paraguay get Germany, The final lot of 3rd round games will still play a big part in who plays who, but Iran is definitely a prefered opponant to a Germany, Brazil, Argentina ect.
The rest days are all over the place. Some teams only have 3 days, while some others have more than 7 days. Who did the scheduling?
