FIFA World Cup 2026 - USA/Canada/Mexico (Part 2)

Yeah young fella Just scored again, he has been a standout for New Zealand the only one that is good enough at this level.

Wow, this group has completely turned upside down.
Iran scored (if it counts). Moved to the top of the table.
Belgium stays 2nd,
Egypt dropped to 3rd but with 4 points.

No, offside by a toe. Goal does not count for Iran.

What a match. Iran stays at 3 points. Would love to see them through as they played very front footed football.

He was born in Kingston upon Thames… you really can’t get more english than that…

Only 11 out of 26 of the Cape Verde squad were born there…

Apparently I could qualify for Ireland as I once dated Tony O’Cascarino’s second cousin.

So after the latest matches what results do Scotland need to qualify?

SATURDAY

Group L: Croatia to lose to Ghana by at least three goals.

SUNDAY:

Group K: DR Congo v Uzbekistan to be a draw.

Or Uzbekistan to win by no more than three goals.

Group J: Austria and Algeria are on three points and a draw would send both through.

Scotland need Algeria to lose by two or more goals, or Austria to be beaten by at least four goals.

It’s $250 to every $1 for Cabo Verde to win the world cup. I gonna place $50 on it and if I win, 10% will be contributed to the running to this forum :pleading_face:

Dare I ask whose arsehole we’re being argued about?

So who will we face in the next round?

England currently lead group L, with second-placed Ghana, level with the Three Lions on four points, playing Croatia in the other match.

If England match or better Ghana’s result without losing they will finish top.

That would then set up a match against one of the eight best third-placed teams.

If DR Congo beat Uzbekistan in their final group K match at 00:30 BST on Sunday, they will play England.

If DR Congo draw or lose then England will play Senegal, unless Croatia lose to Ghana.

There is a scenario where England could face the third-placed team from Group J, which would be one of Austria and Algeria, who play each other in their final game.

This would happen if DR Congo draw or lose and Croatia lose and Group J gets a position. This would most likely happen through a draw, which would mean England play Algeria.

England could still play Austria if they lose by one goal and Croatia lose and DR Congo do not win.

If DR Congo draw or lose and Croatia lose and Group J does not get a best third place, England play Senegal.

If England were to finish second in their group, they would play the second-placed team in group K which is currently Portugal.

Got it?

i no longer can be bothered with those type of computations…

once the results are in, ill see the fixtures, and off we go from there.

i dont mind the knock out round draws and taking a guess on who will play who as the comp progresses, but if theres more than one variable…meh…ill find out when i find out

More permutations for England than all the options to keep Scotland in the Cup.

To keep it simple - Senegal or Congo.

I’m quite liking all the what ifs. Today was excellent seeing who the Aussies would face change every 5 minutes and then VAR locking in Egypt.

Yeah I’m not even looking at the next round till it’s complete tonight.

Coolest footballer ever!

Glad we avoided Belgium. They looked pretty sharp today. But it was all happening with the equations.
