Who is ‘we’?

Who is ‘we’?

There was a vote?

Belgium don´t have the superstars of yesterday but still plenty of talent there. Would expect them to put up a tough challenge for the top top sides.

I saw Fernandez Pardo got on against New Zealand. Looks a promising talent.

Yeah, your voter is card is a big fat brown paper envelope

I’m pretty sure it was 2006 that was supposed to go to South Africa. All the lobbying had been done and with fees going public about their support for SA the unofficial count made it certain they would win the vote. Yet the corrupt Caribbean guy granted the responsibility to cast the vote for CONCACAF went with Germany after being personally bought off. Everyone went nuts, all the concacaf feds were complaining they had been unilaterally over ruled. Jack Werner just shrugged and said “cry more, losers.” And everyone just continued along nicely :joy:

Yet they looked shite against Iran and Egypt

Yep. I really had to pee when I got home :joy:

These aren’t very good are they.

I’m lost on two of them. These became popular when I was young and they at least resembled who they looked like. These just look like what Kane wants to look like.

I did buy a Slot one because he won a title. I have Rafa, Klopp and Slot. I also have Evans somewhere only because I was the age where I bought them.

I may even have a Houllier and if I don’t I may rectify it because he did win us cups. However if they looked like these I’d not bother.

I saw that too—absolutely disgusting. And they’re so stupid to think there’s a rivalry with Germany. I mean, maybe if they ever get four stars on their chests , but otherwise, definitely not. If the Germans have any rivalry, it is—and always has been—with the Netherlands.

I also don’t understand why they always sing songs that put others down—but perhaps there’s nothing positive about them worth singing about. Pathetic.

(In English: The thing is: there is a historically rooted rivalry with the Netherlands. But the hatred that used to exist back in the 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s – that no longer exists today. Nowadays, we Germans and the Dutch are simply ‘peaceful neighbours’ who just tease each other because of the rivalry. The Dutch sing ‘What a shame, Germany, it’s all over’, whilst we Germans sing ‘Only the refuse collectors wear orange’ or ‘Without Holland, we’re off to the World Cup / European Championship’.)

If I’ve understood this correctly: Thank you very much for understanding my anger.

Basically little Englanders are a bunch of racists who generally support things on the far right.

Calling them fascists might be giving too much credit to be honest as you need to have some sort of a brain to have an ideology

What are “Little Englanders”?

At Euro 2021, the 2022 World Cup and Euro 2024 in my home country, I was still rooting for England to win the title. A year ago, in the summer of 2025, I decided to stop doing that. This was partly due to the appalling abuse directed at the crying German girl during the Euro round of 16 match between the ‘Three Lions’ and Germany. And, of course, because of songs like the one in the video.

If you really are English, then I hope I haven’t offended you. But for me, as a German, I just can’t accept it.

Basically a bit like your AFD.

No you’ve not offended me at all, I’m a social democrat who is proud of my many roots such as Irish. Welsh. Scot’s and English.

These people make me physically sick.

I’m English and like many others can’t stand England ‘fans’, it is a sub-culture of racist thugs and neanderthals who hide behind a flag to get together and act out their base desires behind a thin veil of respectability by calling it patriotism and fandom.

Some people in other counties wonder why the English don’t really celebrate St George’s Day or display the St George’s Cross flag and it’s basically down to it being used by the worst of society for a variety of isms, it is seen as a national embarrassment.

I’ve only seen one house on our street with an England flag up during the tournament and the person who lives there is a large bald angry boiled gammon of a man covered in tattoos with a bulldog and a recycling bin full of lager cans who was previously involved in marches that ended up with an attack on a mosque and local businesses with owners who weren’t white enough for his liking. This is your stereotypical ‘Little Englander’

I actually have reasonable sympathy for most England teams, but I have enjoyed the suffering of English fans for almost exactly 20 years. I happened to be in Cologne in late June 2006, and was in the city for the Sweden-England match in WC2006. The behaviour of some of the England fans was absolutely appalling, taunting local people in the streets and sporadic moving violence.

I drove along Sefton Road yesterday (Litherland area for those that are from these parts) and every single lampost had a St George’s cross flag hanging from it. Maybe 40 or more? It must have been a major operation to put all of those up…they are quite high too so probably needed a man lift.
