I’m sure Kane, Gordon, Saka etc will all be staying on their feet whenever possible.
It’s a funny team, Gordon was doing nothing (except losing the ball) until he was involved in a goal.
Often England looked like they only had one player on the field. Anderson seemed to be everywhere to me. Was he the only one who wasn’t shitting himself?
He was everywhere but was just as guilty as others in the progressive passing or lack of.
I feel like Anderson played a bit better when Rice went off.
Or he was a bit more expansive in his passing.
Possibly although Kane was fairly anonymouse throughout.
I thought the first main subs he did as Rice went off he didn´t get right, and then the switch of shape we did after really meant we ended up under the cosh.
I didn’t say he was good, he was doing a job and an important one at that as, defensively noone else looked capable.

I’d like to know why Rice was subbed off ‘so soon’.
It might have been a fitness problem. What I saw was he was pointing
a lot however it was disorientated and not helpful (like Szoboszlai can be). His game was off and he was imo a handicap more than useful.
The main thing to remember though is England played poorly for much of the match yet still won. It’s really worth noting.
I think I’ve heard the commentary said Rice has just recovered from illness and was not fully fit for the match.
ITV commentary spent all game suggesting as much.
Anderson was probably England’s best player if you take away the goals.
Regarding Rice, he was supposed to have had a virus or similar leading up to the game and deserved to be subbed if he didn’t.
Remember at the beginning of last season when we were all excited because we were winning whilst not playing well and just imagine how we would be when it clicked, and it didn’t
As long as we don’t have to go through those interminable fucking international breaks, I’m all for it!!!
I’m more puzzled why this…
The 2030 edition will be mainly co-hosted by Spain, Portugal and Morocco, with the three opening matches to be hosted by Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay to celebrate the centenary of the competition. Uruguay hosted the first World Cup, in 1930.
Why don’t Uruguay just host 3 games?
I assumed injury.
Unfortunately we really are sideways and back merchants. Lots of switching play and ending up in the exact same situation on the other flank. What happened to midfielders passing through teams, exchanging passes and running through?
England have been the same as long as I can remember. So I really can not answer that ![]()
.
I’m getting Trump vibes from this PoS. He needed to be removed yesterday.
So…
The Tuchel/Bellingham after-match comments thingy…
Holy Fuckballs. Was just on the school run and heard the comments in full. This is the biggest fart-sniffing, media circle-jerk I have ever seen.
I am dreading the frenzy this time next week if England are world champions.
Got an extended family group chat planned for Wednesday evening for the game.
All been driven by my uncle who has got us all bought into his “support your neighbours” campaign.
Getting quite enthusiastic about it all now.
I didn’t watch the game, so can’t comment on that. What I meant with that is that in a quarter final of a world cup, small details decide the game. So, not necessarily ref decisions, although the ref can be pivotal as we saw in the Argentina game.
I am not falling for this. Don’t get your hopes up @Maria .. there is a sting in the tail. I need to see him change his profile picture to Harry Kane or Anthony Gordon before I will believe him.
