FIFA World Cup 2026 - USA/Canada/Mexico (Part 3)

Scholes and Lampard only get into the discussion because they were average or above average players who played for sides which won multiple titles.

Gerrard is better than both of them combined.

Discounting gazza ,

That’s like saying with Henderson, Liverpool did get some passing play because he occasionally could find the right pass to a forward

This is a cheap shot but I laughed

That’s concerning. Given the history of this fixture, the tension around it, and the way in which Argentina approaches its business to try to gain every advantage, it will need to be refereed well.

On that point it feels vulnerable.

How fortunate.

Can’t get past the idea that FIFA will not want Messi’s last international World Cup game be a 3rd play playoff if Argentina are the better side so be it. If it’s decided on judgemental decisions it will be depressing

It seems odd that they haven’t announced the refs for England vs Argentina yet.

They have extended the deadline to receive “bids”

Well, good luck with that.

I can only see pre and post crowd trouble between these two as the time of the match approaches

It’s not a headline, more a comedy piece. Aussies couldn’t give a fuck if England won, in fact id suggest they’d have the majority of neutral (aka without family/cultural/other ties) fans vs Argentina and Spain/France.

If that’s the case, ICE would be rubbing their hands with glee and use their god like power to flex their muscles (or flabs). :man_facepalming:

Striker Sorloth faces online abuse after Norway’s exit from World Cup
:frowning:
I think it is time to reignite the “pour icy cold water from a bucket onto self challenge” to cool some heads.

As if the guy didn’t feel bad enough about it already.

Terrible, but.. social media doesn’t exactly get the best out of people. Sadly, it’s not surprising.

Well I think it´s the modern way to pass around the back and midfield and not go anywhere.

Seems less risky as you don´t lose the ball but you also don´t get anywhere so you´re just delaying the risk. Sounds a bit American but making progress up the pitch is really under focused on in my view. I can´t for the life of me think why teams want to take goal kicks into their own 6 yard box nowadays, for example.

Oh can´t agree. Manc but Scholes was a magician with the ball. I think being so small and making it to such a high level in the English game back then would be impossible without being so good on the ball.

I didn’t know Norway played in Toronto? We have plenty of raccoons that Haaland and take back to Norway. In fact, we have 2 in our backyard that is shit brick house big!
