This world cup has had undeniably great games. I have mixed feelings about the World Cup in the US like many others, but the competition has been great. Simply very good games.

I think it’s vindicated FIFA’s decision to expand the competition. When else would you see these kinds of David-Goliath matches in a knockout format. You’re going to see major upsets in the future.

Diaz went down easily, but I think he was impeded.
Marvin Senaya supposed to be marking Lucho, he’s now off with a pull hamstring. 2 injuries in less than 10 minutes. One for each team.
I think losing Senaya is a massive blow for Ghana.

The heat in KC is terrible right now, even at night. I’d be surprised if we don’t see a lot of cramping.
That Ghanaian defense has been shambolic thus far. Not bothering to challenge shots. Content to let attacks develop in front of their box.

It’s the same heat dome over the Midwest I’m experiencing here. So hot and humid. Walked the dog earlier today and I felt light headed. Ridiculous.
As for the footy, Colombia look a decent team. They pass it about nicely and look to make stuff happen all the time. I’ll be surprised if they don’t advance (might not make it to the end!)
