FIFA World Cup 2026 - USA/Canada/Mexico (Part 3)

whats the political ideology of the American Coach (Poch)?

…laugh if he didnt put him on…

For events like this, they characteristically have a dedicated tribunal to turn decisions around very quickly.

What I am unsure about is whether Belgium has standing to appeal the decision. Bosnia definitely does

The red card offence occurred in a match Bosnia played, so they have standing to appeal any resulting ruling. I don’t know that Belgium does, despite being far more affected.

Turns out that Article of the FIFA regs is just completely open-ended…they can do what they want for any sanctions

Mexico v England (02:00 BST)

Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at The Azteca

The face of a smiling Fifa president Gianni Infantino flashes up on the big screens at The Azteca and is instantly met with very loud jeering by Mexico fans.

He’s had a busy few days by all accounts.

Mexican put his head to ball.

Too early, Rice.

Really interested to see how Mexico plays this. If they force the tempo, they might wear England down, but might also be more open

Needed to settle into the game, silly yellow for Rice, especially this early.

Oh dear , they are talking about the Hand of God again. To their credits, they said it’s gone, it’s in the past.

Well I would hope VAR would rule out it nowadays.

Anthony Gordon and Jordan Pickford will feel right at home with all the boos.
