With all the Messi wankfest going on, few things would be more pleasing than Salah sending him (and Mac Allister) packing.

Several teams could potentially destroy them. They really aren’t great. Though FIFA may engineer they stay in.

I believe, Canada knock-out the favourited Moroccans

It’s way better than the Champions league has been the last few years apart from Bodø/Glimt, so yes, I think you are watching the wrong games or have an odd way of enjoying football. Without the story of Bodø/Glimt, the Champions League would only have been so-so interesting.

Imo, anyway. You have a different opinion, fine. I haven’t had this much fun watching football since the season where Liverpool lost out to city by a point and we played amazing romantic football that I adored.

It’s hard:

Rough. Painful. You may call it agonoy.

That doesn’t surprise me.
I wasn’t very interested and still aren’t.
A list of ‘best matches’ so far would be interesting.

I wonder if the later stage games will get better and more importantly consistently good enough to interest me.

You do realise I’m not interested in Norway don’t you .
Just kidding around.
As I said I haven’t watched much and probably the best I have seen was the second half Croatia Vs England when England accelerated the game.
Watching some of the teams I’ve seen trying to play out from the back is painful, too painful for me.

Before the tourney most of my thoughts were directed toward how America, especially under this leadership, is lacking. I was dreading the whole thing, in many ways. Would the police be heavy handed? Would the stadiums have lots of empty seats? I could see lots of issues brewing. Most could.

And while it hasn’t been perfect, it has been one of the better World Cups I can remember, so far. Fans doing their countries proud (I cringe at many of the English fans, but I’m talking on the whole) and a real festival of football, with lots of goals and a few surprises along the way.

There is still scope for trouble, in various guises, and it will make me sick to see Trump worm his way into the trophy presentation at the end, but the overriding impression so far is that the people of the world, and their beautiful game, is the main story.

Long may that continue.

Well the recent competition is fucking Qatar and Russia. I’m not sure this one will be better than Germany 06 or Brazil 14 - will need some more first

Morocco has been giving poor effort. Surprising. Canada plays with far much more vigour and passion.

Michael Oliver as usual is shite.

Better there from Morocco.

Really nice movement on the Canadian attacks here. It’s all slightly too slow in comparison to the best in the world, but it’s good play
