FIFA World Cup 2026 - USA/Canada/Mexico (Part 3)

Columbia have been fast but just haven’t shown much end product and that’s demonstrated here, not sure where this idea they’ve been has come from.

Anyhow I would have half given Columbia a chance but Swiss have zero chance.

Least it’s the 2am game that’s considerate for those that can’t be arsed.

That was such a hard, long slog… Sorry everyone on behalf of Switzerland for serving up such a shite game. :downcast_face_with_sweat: Then again, Columbia weren’t better tonight than the Swiss, both had a solid defence, but didn’t risk much going forward. So it went to the Russian roulette.

Could have been the one or the other. Commiserations to Columbia, poor sods…

I’m feeling very disillusioned with football today.

I don’t know why but that Argentina - Egypt result just numbed me to this World Cup, even more than when it started.

Not angry or all, other than Mo I have no affiliation with Egypt.

Just feels all scripted like reality tv.

Watched the swi- Colombia match. I say watched, wouldn’t feel any different than watching static on tv..

Although as I say that I am reminded of the dire nature of the match which wasn’t far away from watching paint dry.

Yeah just indifferent to it all.

Today’s matches were definitely not the best foot forward. The Argentina-Egypt match was at least exciting, I think Egypt screwed up, but that VAR disallowed goal seems like they were not exactly colouring inside the lines.

Egypt won 3-2 right?

At least in the real world it was.

I have seen matches like France- Paraguay before. I still remember Cameroon vs Argentina in 1990 but the intent wasn’t so malicious. Of course there have been bad calls before. But this scripted narrative. I’m nearly done.

I’m glad most of our bots are out except munoz and macca.

Good for you Bassem and all Egyptians everywhere. You should be proud of your team.

Feels like your typical PL special and it’s really not something I’ve missed this World Cup. The fact that one Argentinian player misses a tackle and the ball has about 8 passes I’m just a bit baffled.

Also if a ref goes to a screen can we not know the outcome, Especially on something like that where you have to take into account where it took place and how long it took to score the fact that ran that through on fast forward I found somewhat odd.

Egypt should have done better but when they equalised I turned off as it felt like a screw job. Even if it isn’t. Also there was apparently a foul in one of the Argentinian goals.

Where did the lenient approach that was much lauded go. Did it disappear with the Paraguay game, it really shouldn’t have as that was just a badly reffed game.

Would you recommend us going for any up and coming Egyptian?

If it’s true that FIFA favoured Argentina, I am going to sue them for my Cabo Verde bet against them.

Can any losing team in a knock out in normal time ever go out graciously?

Referee bias, conspiracies, melees, poor sportsmanship galore, ref crowding, nasty challenges, sideline madness, verbal sprays….

On your bike Egypt. Brave attempt but see ya.

Who is next?
