I don´t think England really cares about it.
It never comes up in normal day life.
When you to go to Argentina they have a monument behind their government building about it. You go on their metro system and it says the islands are theirs.
I was once trying to order ice cream on an app and I saw ´´Las Malvinas Heladeria (ice cream place´ in Buenos Aires. Bizarre.
It´s totally baked in their national psyche whereas I think we barely care until they bring it up.

I did like how Rooney rallying against VAR and calling for it to be scrapped when the decision on the pitch was to give the goal. He really is the worst pundit in the UK.
I can understand why it wasn’t overturned and in a way I would commend if all VAR decisions were at that threshold but as we saw with decisions for Argentina especially throughout that wasn’t the case.

Well Nico Williams, whilst having injuries did not have a great season and here in Spain quite a few doubts about whether he would deliver.
Oyarzabal is okay but he´s not a top class player. Their midfield is indeed excellent but I´d say their defence is just good to decent. It´s not close what they had a decade or so ago.
They are the strongest side but I think they are also beatable. The issue is that nobody else has much of a side except France and theirs is too stacked in the attack and quite average in midfield where Spain is strong.
Yeah I suppose it’s a ‘normal’ call in that sense, in the PL we see defenders getting away with all sorts all the time while a slight touch from the attacker gets called a foul. But in the context of how they tried to officiate the tournament, and also the final, this was incredibly soft.

De La Fuerte has now been in charge for 14 tournament games. He was won 13 of them, including 2 finals. The only side he didnt beat in that run was Cape Verde

For me one of the really annoying things in the PL and football generally is how much grabbing there is.
It looks minor but it really slows attackers and stops them getting away from defenders and it´s basically cheating. They get away with it so often. Just a slight grab or bump. Nowhere in the rules does it say you can grab attackers.

Oh yes, especially the set piece shenanigans, which is a huge issue in the PL. They need to do something about it, nobody wants to watch that shit. Well, maybe Tony Pulis. But seriously, just call some fouls, call it more like they do in the CL and keep doing the thing where they can’t spend ages before taking a corner or a throw-in.
A slight bump is fine, that’s part of the game. But yes, shirt grabbing in general and particularly on set pieces, that’s not great.

Totally agree.
It´s so easy to fix too. Remember the tackle from behind? Red card offence immediately now. And guess what, you don´t see any tackles from behind.
As soon as they start punishing it, players will stop doing it. We ll have a few weeks of bookings and sending offs but then it will stop.

If only referees had the courage to start giving penalties instead of having a chat with defenders, the problem would stop overnight.

But they are staying on the field… Isn’t that what we have been asking for? There is a foul/contact however soft it is. If VAR had ruled it out for that then fair enough but once the ref made the call regardless very few if any VAR will overturn a soft decision anywhere not just the PL.
I assume the question from VAR to the Ref if any was confirmation the contact.
