The squad he picked for this tournament was built to play this game. And it failed. Not just because it lost, but because the game plan the whole thing was based on failed and the only direction he had with the players he had in alternate were to go even more defensive, when the game was crying for them to get a hold of the ball.

100% on him. Absolute main character syndrome. Part of being a coach is that you know when not to intervene. Tuchel comes across with an air of only wanting to win if it can be all down to him.

I think the Bronze Final will show the true character of this English team. If they play for that medal as if possessed, that is how it should be. If they go with “oh whine-whine, I am too good for a Bronze medal and anything but the actual title is meaningless to me”; then they deserve to win absolutely nothing.

The second half was like watching Liverpool last season - attempt to soak up pressure, fail miserably, lose control of midfield and concede a million chances. I knew it was all over as soon as we retreated into our shells and Tuchel started bringing on every CB with an English passport.
