Come on, everybody knows surrendering possession to a superior team with TWENTY minutes to go is asking for trouble.

It’s not like England didn’t have anyone to bring up and continue to play.

I have zero sympathy for Tuchel.

Should have tried that on the pitch instead.

Boom.

At what point does it stop making sense to say ā€œit’s coming home.ā€ I think it permanently moved out a long, long time ago. It’s like my parents letting me know that ā€œyou can always move back homeā€ even as I’m a happily married, middle-aged adult with a family. It ain’t happening, 'ma.

Closest explanation that makes any sense

Well, I’m not an England fan, and I certainly don’t expect to win all the time.

I really don’t understand your angle here. You don’t need to be a professional coach to see how The Tuch shit the bed there. Everyone here is saying it, the pundits are saying it.

once he went six defenders, argentina’s entire team was deep in englands half pressing, no outlet threat, so no need to defend

You must be the only person who thinks that Tuchel managed this properly and Argentina just ā€œwent up a levelā€.

As if England meekly retreating to its box had nothing to do with it.

I have no blames for Tuchel. Once England had the lead, there was only really one option for Tuchel, defend.

There was no other level for this team to go…

There was one camera angle which showed 21 players in the England half

At this point, if we ever do win it again it won’t be a case of bringing it home, it will be more like the old imperial mindset of nicking something that belongs overseas and pretending it was ours all along.

commentary using spain as an example of how to control a game when leading… you dont take off all your wingers and offensive players

I don’t think you understand the difference between Liverpool fans who also support England vs actual England fans.

Most of us are the former. It’d be good if England could win but honestly we aren’t that fussed.

I’m more excited to get back to Anfield with renewed optimism.

At least LFC will definitely have a WC winner again

The infuriating thing is that I really don’t think Argentina are superior, not in every dimension - but Tuchel made them do the one thing they may be better at than any national team in the world. For about 25 minutes. And put on…Dan Burn.

England had this team beaten, and any modicum of attacking play would have killed time and probably produced a fair few free kicks.
