Thomas Tuchel has taken a lot of praise this tournament for his changes and his tactics. Against Mexico, England sat in for 20 minutes and defended brilliantly well. Tonight, those changes started 10 minutes after England’s opener.
But were the changes tonight wrong? Did they come too soon? Did England drop deep too soon?..bbc

I disagree. Ironically we were defending better before he threw Konsa on and went to a back three. At least we also had an outlet.
And Rooney’s point just now was spot on. What do those players think as the message is relayed to put ten behind the ball and defend deep?

Anyway, I will root for Germany in the upcoming Euro/WC.
Wharton off the bench for Rice would have been a much better option. Also some pace. Only Gordon had that.
Not sure what the point in Toney and Hendo was… the latter could have gone on the bench anyhow.

Nah, instead we should just camp out at the edge of our own box. And bring in more defenders. Bunch of balls! Argentina had 2-3 great looks with headers. England were more than warned. There was still loads of time to make a change or two to give it an attacking outlet.
