My family are sick of me moaning about Pickford, but I canāt overstate how massively overrated he is. His positioning is shambolic, and he turns routine saves into world class finger tip saves. His kicking game is abysmal. But more than anything he exudes whatever the opposite of control is. Whether itās flying through the air at stuff that is clearly going ten yards wide, flapping his arms and ranting at defenders, running round his box like a sugared up toddler. He is in a constantly heightened, wound up state and itās the last thing you need from your keeper.
