He just isnāt a very good goal keeper and is only there because there is a very poor choice, the 2nd goal is a perfect example, nowhere near the shot that wasnāt far from the middle of the goal, I would be scathing of Ali if he conceded that.
Then there is his temperament, he is like a frog in the box, just lacks calmness.

See, before Argentina got the go-ahead, I was trying to work out who would take the penalties. Bellingham, Kane, but after that I was scratching my head. I suppose Rashford and Toney could have come in for that instead of what they did do - but who would have taken the 5th? The 6th?

The major difference was in how both sides managed the press. And especially the level of energy exerted.
Argentina with composed, technical control.
England with the ball over the top to Gordon and Rogers, and a lot of hard running.
A flurry of England setpieces might have given the facade of domination, but in reality the 1hf was a stalemate.
