FIFA World Cup 2026 - USA/Canada/Mexico (Part 4)

FIFA should actually be slapping this hard - it is far more than that. There is a sizeable element in Milei’s party that believes Argentina should occupy the Falklands again, noting the relative incapacity of the RN these days, andbelieving the US would not support Britain this time.

Definitely merited a slap.

…5 mins later, once his back was turned

And he likely said something.

And lets be honest, it wasnt a ´´smack´ like you said. A tap.

How awful of him to have likely done that.

How awful of Bellingham to have lightly tapped his head.

True hero our Jude.
Wears a cape and all.

He is being called a prick for doing it. How severe the tap was is not relevant

it´s very relevant.

Just odd how you seem so keen to make out he´s a prick for tapping some argie who taunted him in his face.

Look at the guy agreeing with you. Look how bitter he is.

That’s surely irrelevant comes much earlier.
This is getting ridiculous!

Im calling him a prick for walking into a celebratory huddle and starting aggro. But you know, the argie probably said something that justified it. Probably.

I mean I showed you video evidence of what he did despite you trying to suggest it was a false claim.

But alright if you really want to go out of your way to criticise the guy and be petty, sure.

What I said is that the delayed response from Jude - the standing there, the watching the celebrations form next to him before belatedly deciding he wanted to rumble - makes the idea that we can defend it based on some chivalrous response to what Barco did off screen, or even more laughably 5 mins before, pretty laughable.

But he likely said something. Likely

Can I just say, this is a silly argument! Hopefully we can let it lie.

Big game, disappointment, a little temper flaring up… it happens. We shouldn’t go overboard on the Bellingham post-match analysis as it was a minor thing.

The main takeaway from the game, at least from an England perspective, is why we handed the initiative to Argentina after going 1-0 up. The subs, the formation, everything was wrong and we expected Tuchel would come in and do better in the heat of battle at the sharp end of the tourney. That’s why we hired him, presumably. Adam Clery did a good piece on it.

Slap-gate (or light tap-gate) is a nothing burger and is not worth fighting over.

Peace out.

If we start holding player behaviour to the standards of the most moronic fans, the sport will be circling the drain in no time.

Heaven forbid the squeaky clean game run by upstandingly honest organisations and individuals within should fall into disrepute
