There are two Ecuadorian players behind the keeper. The one who challenged for it, the one who then got his head to the second ball and headed it back to the guy who originally challenged the keeper. Apparently this image shows there was only one Qatari behind the two Ecuadorians
Amazing how good a player can look once they get away from Everton.
Not too sure I understand this, how can Torres both be challenging the keeper AND be in position to score the goal?

My thoughts as well. Canāt claim the offside player influenced the keeper either.
Unless they deemed the goalscorer ahead of the ball when he scores (which I think is the case) offside and thereās a rule which there has to be 2 defenders behind the keeper?
But then I do see 1 defender miles behind and 1 probably behind.

Saw something on Friday that Qatar had asked Ecuador to throw the game 1-0 with a goal in the second half. Seemed bollocks, but after the shady offside and with the game still 0-0 you could imagine the more conspiratorial fans start to crow.
It doesnt matter whether the Qatari keeper touched it. The second Ecuadorian player was offside the moment the first one won the header. Any touch it got from a defender/keeper in between is not a deliberate pass so it doesnt play him onā¦see realās disallowed goal in the final last year
What a boring, one sided game so far.
