Wales over the last few years have rather resembled the Scotland team of the 1970s. Some genuinely world class players but very little depth.
Mmh, their bench today is as bad as any in the tournament. Think I only know 2 or 3 on there.

Same as it ever was? Are their qualifying groups easier these days as in previous decades they always seemed to have some of the top teams to play?
I think the qualifying groups are seeded so how easy the group is depends on the seeding pot. Doing well in previous competitions makes the next group easier.
Wales finished second and qualified in the playoffs over Scotland and Ukraine.
