Jones did play a good pass into him, but he still had a lot to do.

ā€œWe just have still to find each other a bit moreā€
On and off the pitch, I think. He speaks well, but he’s still only 22 and shouldn’t be expected to carry the team, whatever the price tag.

Nice quote, because that can be said of them not only on the ball, but off the ball. Find each other, defend with each other. That’s what I hope they all get.

And being 22, with the stuff he’s done and proved already, he’s not a young player anymore. He’s not old, but he’s not brought in as a talent to start performing in a few years. He’s already a serious player brought in to make a difference today and tomorrow.

He shouldn’t be expected to carry the team (nobody should, that’s then a more negative thing to say about the team in the first place) and it wasn’t all bad from him this season, but there is no hiding from that so far both Liverpool and Wirtz haven’t produced what was expected.

Florian Wirtz should scores his first goal for Liverpool FC, but EFL has mean, that are a own goal from Nordi Mukiele. Please next match, scores, Flo. :+1:

Wirtz is the complete package. Money well spent.

… and yet when they should shoot they pass it slowly in the opposition box. They really are looking a bit clueless atm unfortunately.

I was wondering with Bradley in for Gomez whether he would keep Wirtz at #10 or swap him with Szobo. Not that it matters too much as in possesion they’re not far from each other, closing the box-shape as double #10’s.

This is a damning compilation. I hope they don’t do it on purpose.
