I love the guy, and I love that he’s chosen to come to us. He’s got all the talent in the world and when it clicks, there’ll be fireworks!

Probably better getting her in to replace Konate :joy:

Back then we could still relied on Hendo and Milner when Keita faltered, Ox injured and Fabinho not yet adapted to the game. Plus TAA was also there to provide all those creative stuffs.

Tbh I think when we’ve got the ball and he’s not shunted out wide he’s looked very lively. Saw that he’s currently created the most chances in the league.

The important stuff is all clearly there. It just needs the synergy with the others to come off, but that I don’t think is entirely down to him. If easy chances had been put away he’d have 3/4 assists already.

Like the lad, look forward to seeing what heights he’ll hit here

Now Ronay’s at it

Eight fucking games and he’s writing this?

It was a fair point without making Wirtz the centre piece. But I suppose even Ronay needs the clicks.

The issue perhaps is that a lot of those big signings are big because a lot tend to be foolish, vanity purchases.

Neymar was a club trying to assert themselves against Barca by taking one of their best players. Dembele and Coutinho were both Barca panic reacting to that. Pogba and Anthony are examples of United desperately flapping in the market.

The biggest flaw in the article is Ronay’s observation that 18 of the 35 most expensive footballers were flops. Isn’t 50% the standard hit rate for all transfer business? Is the only different here the scale of the fee?

Liverpool have bucked the trend of that statistic, and they’ll do it again at the top of the market.

Fair points, all.

My main concern is that Flo has been with us such a short time.

Here in Germany, they are very critical of Florian Wirtz.

The user ‘DSCDNA’ on ‘DSC4ever’ (Arminia Bielefeld fan forum) writes:

Wirtz unfortunately moved to the wrong club – he let himself be talked into it.
He seems like a foreign body, he’s almost being cut out. He should have gone to a team with a strong midfield that likes to combine. At Liverpool, it’s always just pace, pace, pace.
That’s obviously rubbish for the national team. I’m curious to see how this plays out.

User ‘Fonzie’ writes:

Flo had such a great conversation with Arne, who presented Flo with the perfect idea for his role in the game… At least that’s the legend, that it definitely wasn’t the big money that kept him from going to Bayern. Sometimes life punishes you for too much hypocrisy.
Let’s look to the future: World Cup 2026, Germany packs its bags after the preliminary round. However, Wirtz, who is out of form, spends a few more weeks at Disneyland at the invitation of Donald Trump Jr.
2.1.27: Wirtz transfers to Bayern Munich for 99 million euros. Flo had a really good conversation with Vincent beforehand about his role in the Bayern game…

What a load of n’importe quoi.

@Zoran

As a German, I’m glad that Wirtz joined Liverpool FC and not that stupid club from the Bavarian capital of Munich. I would have been fine with Flo joining Man$hitty, too, if I had to choose. But the fact that Wirtz joined my ‘Sympathieverein’ (the club I’m most fond of) is even cooler.

The Premier League is not the Bundesliga; the Premier League is more intense. Flo will have to get used to that.

What an assist this would have been

What a choice of words and explanation for something that is clearly intentional, or did anyone think otherwise?
