Former Player: Mohamed Salah

Why not FC Basel if money is not an issue. Will get to play CL

Basel have a tradition of bringing back their best former youngsters when they reach the end of their career. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Xhaka for instance ending his career there at some point.

Thing is, Mo isn’t one of their former youngsters. He grew up in Egypt, came to Basel at the age of 20, and stayed there for two years. He hasn’t the same kind of loyalty with the club than a player born and bred in Basel. That’s why he won’t return there I think.

The apparent lack of interest is telling. Time will tell, it seems like the correct move to mutually terminate his contract.

Yeah I doubt we’d have got anything for him and the wages is at least something off the books.

Unlike others who have gone to the World Cup like the Dutch boys he looks exactly how he has been for a year.

It’s a damn shame that, because of Ramos, Salah didn’t get the opportunity to be his prime self at a World Cup

So pleased for Mo. I know Turkish super league is not the best league, but it is at least better than the Saudi Pro-league.

Interesting idea - wonder if we could try something similar to fund our new right winger, Bournemouth’s RayanAir

Salah to Trabzonspor on a 2-year deal. The Beşiktaş fans are going to riot. :joy:

That is my Turkish team :slightly_smiling_face:, TrabzonspĂśr. Their tea leaves are the best in TĂźrkiye!

I am glad Mo has gone there. He can still play in Europe. Turkish super ligue is still better established than Saudi Pro ligue.

There is a proper passionate, cultural football fanbase in TĂźrkiye compared to Saudi Arabia.

The location is picturesque, good food, lush greenery and it rains alot. What could Mo want. It will be like Liverpool

Fewer Turkish barbers and kebab shops than Liverpool though

Turkish barbers are the best for male grooming and facial care. You want to look good for a party, wedding or a date. They are your go to guys.

There is more to the maligned humble kebab than you know. There are roughly 290 different regional kebabs around the world you know.

A bit surprised by that move. I wonder what his wages will be.

Trebizond (Trabzond) is a mythical Eastern city, but still a bit far away from everything these days. I wonder what Mo’s motivations are here, apart from the money.

Time to add some new dance moves Mo.
