So boring I am first in.

I miss Klopp. I also missed Rafa but got over it.

I didn’t think I’d miss Rafa as I felt it was time for him to go, until we won nothing except a league cup for the next 5 or 6 seasons and even flirted with relegation under Roy. Until Klopp I missed him massively. Even King Kenny’s return was very underwhelming, which was understandable to a degree. He’d been out of the game for a long time. At least Kenny got another trophy to his name in his second stint.

Any other beside the Old Owl and Brenda who won nothing during their stint?

There’s an article on the BBC about our former women’s manager, Matt Beard, in which his widow discusses the stresses leading up to his suicide. I thought it may be of interest here.

This is a sad story. I remember how exciting it was when he first appeared. I hope Rio’s career doesn’t end like this. Obviously Sterling won silverware, but he didn’t fulfill his potential.

Should be put in the Rio Ngumoha,

For those who think Rio should start every game and play the full 90 mins!

I’d say he did. Not a shame where he is lately considering what he was like pretty young. Can be really happy with his career in my opinion.

Because he may also get 400 PL appearances, 80 England appearances, score 150 goals and win nearly every major trophy?

And be washed up and struggling to get a game anywhere at the age of 29 or 30…

12 year career at the top level. Not many get that no matter what age they come through at.

Yeah. Reading between the lines, I’m not sure away from football Raheem has the simplest life and taking away football may be more problematic for him.

Could’ve been longer though…

Look at Scholes and Beckham,

Love him or hate him Fergie knew how to handle young players,

Look at what it meant to fans and players..it does my head in every season now when posters say the FA Cup doesn’t matter. Do you think those players would have preferred to finish 4th than win that cup? I don’t.

Weirdly I was really nervous watching that again. Can’t believe that was 20 years ago though…I remember it so well.

To me Reina always seemed to have a mistake in him. Loved by the fans but not top notch…

Rafa’s “genius” idea to switch the sides of our CB’s on that day, which we never did before or after…

What a reward for the fairplay showed by the West Ham defender when Cisse got hurt minutes before the end of regular time: shit defender clearance falling to Gerrard and he scores a worldy.

1971 FA Cup Final - Frank McLintock of Arsenal and Tommy Smith of Liverpool shake hands before the toss-of-the-coin.

Arsenal won 2-1

I was at this match. Remember my Dad lifting me over the turnstile because I was too small to push through… He handed some guy/steward my ticket and asked him to take me to my seat… He put a tube of wine gums in my pocket and then off I went. Due to my Dad having a separate ticket for a different part of the ground, I was told by my Dad to stay in my seat, and after the game he would come and fetch me.
“Don’t move from your seat, hear me.?” - “Yes Dad”
A really sunny hot day as I recall, and four things I still remember from inside Wembley and the game itself.

  1. Seated near the Arsenal end (the end Heighway scored), I noticed lots of huge megaphones sited in front of the Arsenal fans… which I realised later in life, were strategically placed to amplify the singing of the Arsenal supporters… Never seen similar placed in front of any Liverpool sections though (cheating Bastards).
  2. Charlie George (and his famed long hair) laying on the turf after he scored.
  3. Ian Callaghan never stopped running from the first minute to the moment he left the pitch… Think James Milner times ten
  4. The saddest day of my young life to date.
