Great video, brought a tear to my eye.

I wonder how much these great would be paid each week if they they were playing in this day and age,

more than Gapko I’d hope…

What’s happened to Thommo’s voice? It’s been getting fainter and fainter, is that why he left Sky Sports? (Plus he’s of course getting on in age). I feel sad for him every time I hear him.

too much too young IMO,

he’s now ruined

Well thankfully he didn’t hurt anyone else.

All of those great players we grew up enjoying. Not a weak link among them.

I saw this online. Phil Taylor introducing the players to the King (George VI) prior to the 1950 FA Cup Final at Wembley. Presumably colourised.

I was hoping that someone could put some names to faces. I’m not too familiar with the players of that period, although I know Billy Liddell (club legend) and Albert Stubbins (from Sgt Peppers) were present.

Paisley was sub me thinks, a decision that sculpted his personality.
Viz:
Although he scored the winning goal for Liverpool in the semi-final against Everton, he was surprisingly left out of the starting lineup for the final against Arsenal, which Liverpool lost 2-0. [1]

Paisley later noted that this heartbreak helped him make tough decisions when he eventually became Liverpool’s legendary manager.

I had that tape :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

It’s great isn’t it. Love the music intro and outro too. Got it when I first started following pool in 1990 and remember watching it many a time during the early mid 90s

Yeah I got it as a christmas stocking stuffer when I was a kid and it would hav been the first time I saw a lot of the black and white stuff…the Inter robbery, the BBC report of the Kop bringing Merseybeat to the stands. It was mesmerizing and I remember driving my dad crazy from watching it over and over again on christmas day
