After reading the relevant section after @mackie posted the gift link, it seems Torres is the obvious answer

ā€œIā€™ve been reluctant to say this in the past because I assure you I am not bitter, but I will say it now. I have a lot of conversations with Carra and Stevie [Gerrard] where we have mentioned some players going back to Anfield and getting a standing ovation and thought to ourselves: ā€˜God, if the fans knew what they were really like.ā€™

ā€œI played with a group of lads ā€“ a lot of us who come through the academy ā€“ who worked our a---- off every time we played, to bring success, but someone who scored a few goals for a few months and inspired a good Kop song is welcomed back as a hero. I would think that strange regardless of what the supporters thought about me.ā€

Maybe Garcia. Either way, he can go fuck himself.

Iā€™d extend that sentiment to Torres as well but I never got the impression he was given a heroā€™s welcome whenever heā€™s back at Anfield. I didnā€™t watch the friendly or friendlies he was a part of, though.

I actually thought Garcia might be the answer, hence my remark about said player(s) winning CL with Liverpool. That said, I think that there are plenty of former players who havenā€™t done much of note coming back and taking part in charity events, he might have had a go at them.

Initially he was almost as hated as Owen. But he has always been respectful of the fans and the club so reearned the love he got in the last couple of friendlies that he played in.

Owen has always come across as bitter since he left us, and even when talking positive about the club adds some sly barb.

Torres got a lovely welcome back at Anfield. From Daniel Agger :joy:

It was that charity match at Anfield when Torres and Suarez played up top together.

To be fair Torres scored more than a good couple of goals for a few months.

He was in my view as vital as Suarez was in that Rodgers season.

Thanks for posting that - its so lilā€™ mickey. Sitting on the fence and saying the obvious - surely he can actually join the dots and say that trent wonā€™t know what heā€™s missing until heā€™s gone and that, unlike lilā€™ mickey, Trent has less reason to leave as he can win the big trophies (again) here. The pull of the real team that Owen joined would have been much stronger - look at those names and compare where we were then - and even still he clearly regrets it (again come out and say it you fence sitter).

Well if he had stayed he would have won the biggest trophy in club football.

He left and won err the intertoto cup and was a bit part in a Man Utd side that won the title.

Or would he? We wouldnā€™t have got Luis Garcia* and his goals in the knockout stages? Butterfly wings and all thatā€¦

*No doubt adding to lilā€™ Mickeys annoyance whenever he hears the Sangria song.

Gossiping and shit stirring about your ex colleagues just lacks class to be honest no matter who does it.

Always comes across as a bitter little man.

Wish I didnā€™t know what Owen is really like.

No way to talk about Don Alfredo mate. Owen wasnā€™t fit to lace his his boots.

Funny post on your part though
