Former players and managers - general discussion

I think we can say he’s passing his first tests pretty well. Even at Rangers and in Scotland, it can go south pretty quickly. Seems like he’s got good people around him and that is also an indicator that some of those coaches believed in him. He probably delegates well and manages to get his message across well, also motivating his players and still having an aura. From interviews though, he sounds very, very cautious to me. It’s like, yes, he does want his teams to have a Steven Gerrard passion, but he’s very aware of some lessons he learned during his playing career. For further evolution, we’ll have to wait and see. But there is no rush in saying that it’s very much so far so good.

Hopefully Rangers will get past Antwerp, they have an away win and four away goals. They are likely to face some serious team next round and that will a good test for Gerrard.

Next season they will have some tricky ties in Champions League qualification (third and play-off rounds) and those will be further tests of how much he has progressed as a manager.

His record in Europe for a Rangers side has been very good and much better than say Lennon or Rodgers.

It’s the best way to judge up there in my view, they’ve impressed me in Europe, yes the games have been crazy but they look on the verge of the last 16 as for the league they’ve killed that.

Be interested to see what happens in the CL next season but I think Gerrard could navigate it to the group stage based on what results they have been getting.

Good to see Ryan Kent finally getting to double-double figures.

10 goals and 12 assists in 41 games so far this season.

When the chips are down as at the moment, and Jurgen and the boys are coming in for some measured stick from their own fans, it can be expected because majority of us care deeply about LFC, our bank balance over the years has taken a hit, and frustrations sometimes rise to the surface. However we do that on media platforms with a relative small ground swell… We knock points of view across etc, but all in all, no harm done and no lasting damage.
We continue to pray at vital times in the game, and pop the odd heart tablet at other times…!
That is what we do as fans of the club we love to bits.

With this in mind, even after a few days after he spouted the phrase ‘Mentality Midgets’ I have definitely come to the conclusion that Carragher must be a closeted member of the Blueshite.!
Being brought up in an era were PC was the sole job of Mary Whitehouse, the connotations of the ‘M’ word is not something that bothers me a great deal, it is a take it or leave it term, but surely, after the ‘spitting-gate’ debacle, maybe Carragher needs to pick his words more carefully.
Reading up on how offensive to those effected most by this terminology, it must be heart-breaking to them and more importantly, to their children, when someone who remains so determined to remain in the spotlight… utters a such a derogatory remark at their expense…!
I mean does his statement actually have any meaning or substance to it…?
Mentality Midgets… WTF does that actually translate into…?
I personally have no respect for Carragher after the spitting incident involving that young girl, just my own feelings towards him is all. He would do well to remember though, he has done well dining out on the super human efforts he put into the 2005 CL final… he was an average defender, end of.
A little humility here and there, on the screen, would serve him well.

I think we can all agree that the calibre of refereeing has gone beyond being acceptable…!
I think the calibre of pundits, especially those employed by Sky that struggle with putting a point of view across in a measured and thought out way, has also gone beyond being acceptable…!
Just felt there was neither a need nor reason, to pour scorn on the boys in such a way…
