With Dylan in my view only Dylan can sing Dylan.

Thatā€™s the key in it all, if he is going since a barbershop song from the 1950s then no but for his music itā€™s perfect, same with Guthrie and others like him.

Ironically heā€™s on Absolute Classic Rock right now

Ok, Iā€™m going to start a shitstorm here, but really, the singers I love listening to are 90% non white. Struggle to think of any white guys who move me. Sorry, Iā€™m retiring to my bunker and will re-emerge in a week or two.

Canā€™t you at least give an (one) example?

so you didnā€™t listen to any 60-90ā€™s rock at all?

All of the Rat Pack could sing well
Michael Jackson missing from this list so far
Marvin Gaye also missing

George Michael is a fair shout, heā€™s so smooth. Listen without Prejudice is one of the best albums of the 90ā€™s

Dave Matthews has to be heard live to really appreciate. Heā€™s not for everyone, but has been around for 30 years and that band is still going.

One of my favorite bands of the past 20 years is Fat Freddyā€™s Drop (@NZred will know this one), their frontman has a fantastic voice.

But this fella right here, he kills it. Heā€™s so good.

Honorable mention to Thom Yorke from Radiohead. bit of a nutter, but goes places with music that few venture

Ok, Iā€™ve thought of one:

FFD good shout:

Marvin isnā€™t missing. A couple of people have mentioned him and I posted him singing I Want You

100% correct and my apologies.

I got my wife to agree to schedule our next trip to continental Europe to coincide with one of their tours, I really want to see them live. that was two years ago, then Covid19 hit and ruined that for us. Hopefully in a few years this all clears up, maybe for my 50th.

No match to CĆ©line mind.

Then is that fair?

Some good shouts on here

Another bit of David Byrne - here signing Strange Weather with Ani Calvert. And ā€˜cos why not, letā€™s listen to it with the incredible montage BT did for the title win.

Thom Yorke is another fav of mine, absolutely wonderful vocalist who can pretty much do anything with his voice. Musicially brilliant as well, here doing something rather more than slapping out chords on an acoustic guitar

According to Cardiff Pete he canā€™t play an F

A nod to Jeff Buckley, died far too young, and suffered from everyone copying him in the early 2000s. But what a voice.

I donā€™t think Iā€™m mistaken on saying nobody has mentioned that ginger twat Ed Sheeran?:clap::clap:

Why would anyone?

Itā€™s very important that nobody mentions Ed Sheeran. Scientists trying to explain his meteoric rise are theorising that he is actually asleep on a break in his shift at an Argos Warehouse and his music career, including the reality itā€™s based in, including us, is a construct of his dream.

Should he become self-aware he could wake up, and thatā€™s the end of everything we know.
