You really expect a 22yo to displace either VvD or Konate? Really?
Quansah got more 40% more minutes than Gomez (1290 vs 864), so how does that make him 4th choice?

Because Gomez was injured?
Gomez is like weather on the British islands: when it is fair, you know that the next shower isnât far awayâŚ
The sale of Quansah was great business, heâs never a 35 million pound player. We replaced him with a kid that quite obviously has a lot more ability.
Not getting Guehi was a shame, but panic buying cover would have been a mistake.
The real issue here is the league cup. Itâs a nuisance, it hampered Klopp in a couple of his last seasons and itâs hampering us already this year. Had we had any real league competition last year it would have been an issue then, too.
Donât worry. Weâll be out next round.
Not sure it had much impact last year bar some bed wetting.
Our lead was only about 6 at that point. At the end of the day our form was out performing everyone else until we had won the title over a 10 game period.
Thatâs my point.
No, he canât. But he is also at the age where, to get the most out of his career, he needs to start regular games.
I think the fact that he has been moved on, with the circumstances for his return baked in, is a measure of how the club rate him. It would have been very easy for everyone to just settle into him as a six out of ten fourth choice centre back who will do alright when they need him.
I think they see him as a potential elite Centre Back, and have devised this pathway to help him get there.
(By the way, when Gomez was fit, Slot turned to him rather than Quansah)
I wholeheartedly agree with Mascotâs view of Quansah.
I am certain the club thought he was good enough to be part of the group. Just look at his game. Itâs all there to at least be a back up.
What we cannot possibly know is how high he will go. Will he get to the level where he will be a regular starter for us?
To find out, he needs games. First team games, in a competitive league.
So off he goes to Germany. We get a decent fee, and if thatâs the end of it, so be it. But we have locked in a buy back clause which tells me that we think he might fulfil his potential and get to the very top, and if he does, we will happily pay the fee to bring him home.
And in the meantime, while the Quansah cycle plays out, we go again, on another great youngster, Leoni. He is years behind Quansah, so his biggest need is training with the best, and then seeing some action along the way as we go. He still has time. We only saw a snippet before injury struck. He has been desperately unlucky, but even on what we saw, it whetted the appetite for what he might yet become for us. Very early days there though.
I see the need to get young central defenders, per above.
In addition, we also need ready-made options who can go straight in. Guehi would have been that man for us, and I see us signing one or two in that sort of category in the next window or two.
I understand this, hence my point that you secure Guehi before you release Quansah.
If Ibou has a drop in form, at least you have Quansah (Gomez, if healthy) to rotate and rest. If anyone remembers the 60 game season, that one killed a lot of our players. Salah, Firmino and Sane were un-droppable form for most of that season but truly knocked by its end. I think that was Bobbyâs last year
We still havenât found someone who tied it all together like he did.
Fair enough, secure Guehi before selling Quansah. Ideally we would have.
I think Guehi falling through, then Leoni getting injured, is a quick fire double whammy near the start of the season. Hopefully we can strengthen in January.
Iâm surprised that its taken over a week.
Normally the have to wait for the swelling to go down
I think Guehi was secured. Everything points to a deal more or less complete, medical etc complete when Palace pulled the plug.
Its awful that Leoni getting injured has compounded the situation. Quansah was fourth choice CB last season and obviously not in Slots mind as a regular. The behaviour of Palace in the Guehi fiasco is been overlooked. They shafted Liverpool and their captain.
If the belief at Liverpool was that this deal was always secure, then why would they buy anyone else.
Good to see him up and mobile. Plenty of work still to do, of course.
Spero che vada tutto bene
Yeah really positive to see him walking and mobile on it.
Try Viagra, it helps you respond quicker.
Iâm lost on this. You donât walk on your cock do you?
Well, all blokes do, donât they?
You mean to say you donâtâŚ?
