Guitars, Guitars and more toys that go with Guitars

Tell you what…were fucked if we want to order a guitar from Europe.
They decide they vat and charge after. Could be up to 30% of guitar value.
Saw a guitar I like for £700 and apparently vat, and other bits are added on after its delivered.
Exempt only if under £130.

This was the problem with bringing stuff from the US on ebay; only did it a few times, gets intercepted by customs, they hold it to a further tax payment of 20%, even added on to the delivery fee; and I give you Tribute!

I think I might need to sell some organs

They cant even throw in free p&p after spending £6k!
Dont get that Reverb site - some want £185 p&p?

They are posting from another part of the world. You need to filter for UK stuff.

It does look the nuts though.

Love this…

Its £100 cheaper than UK but with VAT added plus whatever other charges Id get lumbered with it would work out dearer.

PixieLixx or Steve from Boston, a Youtube guitar thingy-me-bobber rates these immensely highly for metal and has a Kramer Pacer himself.

I’d seriously steer well clear of anything from Europe for now.

People are being nailed for import charges, because we voted for less red tape.

Triggered and Andertons price review.

Shame really because Thomann have been pretty good when I’ve ordered stuff from them in the past.

Still we have plenty of choice in the UK. Andertons, PMT, Guitarguitar, GAK, Dawsons plus all the local shops.

Half crossed my mind to just hold on for a while until all the would be lock down guitarists give up and try to sell their gear. I came across a Squier Strat the other day for £90 with a hard case.

Its good thinking there will be a correction once all the toys get thrown into a corner, inevitably. Learning guitar is painful, on the finger tips and hand ligaments, and mostly entrants do not get past that. Shame really because its a very rewarding hobby.

Ive had great service from Thomann; ordered a MicroKorg synth a few years back and they took it back and paid the postage, no quibble. It was a little to toyish and basic, so I went full Moog, now I cant work that thing out!

kytary are refusing to send anything to the UK for a while.
Shame as they are normally cheapest and have free 3 day delivery

Actually got a couple of bits to try and sell myself I think. That Line 6 pedal board for one. I just don’t need it now, and I also fancy building a small pedal board. Is there such a thing or is that something that never really stops growing?

Part of me wants one of those Analog Man King of Tone pedals but the 3 year waiting list is bonkers.

Yes multi effects units rarely deliver on all banners; they are usually an attraction for beginners and then have to go. I did it. I use a full board now, and even made about 10 handmade wood boards and covered in vinyl. I was going to set up a small business but got waylaid, I made about 10 and sold 3. I have plenty spare but you would have to wait, they are in storage in Somerset.

The analog man king of tone is a monster cornerstone, but you could also look at the Amp 11 pedal as an alternative?

That Pedal Show did a look at alternatives I think. I need to look at that again.

To be honest, it sounds like fun and partly feeds my urge to fiddle. I’m honestly surprised I haven’t “upgraded” that Ibanez of mine yet or even dabbled with building my own.

Maybe…

EDIT

Here it is

Some signature guitars released by Kramer.

One looks like a horror show, cant even escape it in this thread.

The green one is gross.
Love the Traci Guns one.

Not for me. I went through that weird rock shape stage in the early 90’s I think.

That said one of my favourite guitarists plays a flying V - Michael Schenker.

Anyone bought B-stock? Found guitar with a crack in that’s been repaired. Worth a look? or wait until new stock on 03/02?
