Hugo EKITIKE: 2025/26

Plenty of players have come back after 6-12 months injured. Virg etc.

Given the medical and trainer quality he should get back to full speed and be fine.

The mental challenge becomes an issue though. Guaranteed the first ugly fullback challenge is straight onto the Achilles.

Hugo has a Achilles rupture not knee injury!

I am aware of that and I mentioned Achilles in the post….

Was just making the point that you can recover well after an extended period off the park and used Virg as an example.

Having ruptured an Achilles myself its a tough rehab, which is why I also mentioned the mental challenges he will need to overcome as well. But he will be OK eventually.

I would imagine the mental side is the toughest part of rehab, that’s why I have so much respect for Gomez as he has been through it 3 times.

Is he wearing his dad’s suit?

Looks like the end scene of Big where he turns back into the kid still wearing Tom Hanks’ suit

I think that looks really cool combined with the walking stick. He and Virgil should have gone to Wimbledon together—it’s just great how worked up everyone is getting about it.

Some of us are still processing the mental scares from the last time Liverpool players wore white suits in London.

I think it looks great. Ok, maybe the trousers are way too baggy, but if that’s the look, that’s the look. Lovely to see him out and about and doing his thing. The broach and the watch strap add some pizzaz and the cane is a very gentlemanly addition, obviously for a practical reason.

Get well soon Hugo! Keep shining lad.

Yes, I can understand that, but the new generation of players can’t be held responsible for the ā€œmisstepsā€ of their predecessors. It was a completely different time, and we shouldn’t burden this new generation with that baggage. Let them enjoy themselves without inhibition. We had a similar discussion before when it came to the Chiesa song. The older generation wants to impose ā€œfeelings of shameā€ on the younger generation. And these are just white suits. I don’t think that’s right at all.

A white suit at Wimbledon seems in good taste/apt imo baggy or slim fit, who cares.
It does give us something to chat about.
I hope they enjoy Wimbledon as much as my mum used to.

He looks fine to be honest, the cane does give off Bond Villian vibes mind.
