The Ekitike palindrome taking number 22 feels satisfying

Looks like the Lucho replacement, doesn’t he?

Nah. Bobby.

Someone versatile enough to create space for other attackers and potent enough to convert his chances

Why?

He really impressed me to be fair… seems to understand us far quicker than some of the other additions, I think Wirtz is just about there but hes had 3-4 weeks.

I like the finished product. Please don’t use a stencil cut like the others.

What a lovely player… He has bags of potential (pace, technique, shooting) and once he’s settled in, I’d wager that he’ll become an absolute killer for us!

( But maybe he’ll do a Salah and be a killler for us right away! )

From having a striker who apparently had “all the tools”, to someone who, since Firmino, showed what it’s like to have one who can actually receive a football, display clean touches and an ability to combine.

Yeah… there are a bit more tools in football that exist other than physical size, pace, knuckle-shooting everything and clashing into opponents with raw aggression.

A “bit” more.

When did he change his hair color?

He boiled the broccoli a little too long and thought it looked cool.

He has already missed two identical sitters with his head in the last two matches, i.e. from a cross from the left flank. It would be nice if he could add scoring from headers to his arsenal but his overall package is a quite nice change from Nunez.

That said, his record in the opening two matches for Liverpool is the same as Nunez’ if I’m not mistaken. :joy:

Hugo Ekitike:

“The intensity is different. They don’t lie about the Premier League. I had cramp by 60 minutes.”

Hopefully we give them time enough to settle in, it might take a while tbf

The inept way we the forward roles have been handled he is playing every week for the time been.

That sentence is inept.

You saw elements of his performance today that make clear what it meant when people were rating him highly even before he started scoring goals. His ability to find space but then to also understand how to hurt the defense once they react to it is the stuff of a much more mature and experienced player.

You saw it a bit on the first goal after he quickly recognized what was on once the CB came out to pressure him once he got the ball from Virgil. But it was even better on our second goal because of how tight a space there was to operate in.

Agreed Zoran. I for one am so pleased we no longer have Darwin and have someone of Hugo’s quality instead.
