I’ll have a bitter please...It’s the Everton thread

Why?

He’s doing a pretty good job at Derby, who are in massive problems and who knows if they’ll even exist anymore in the near future. If he keeps them up, it’s a little miracle.

Obviously he had to say something while answering the questions, because in a more normal situation at his current club, he’d probably take the job. I didn’t see it as an arrogant answer (not the first manager who rejected a PL job). But it’s a very critical situation at Derby and his stock might rise even more if he keeps them up.

He has my respect for it, the Everton job might be available some other time. Maybe both sides won’t have to wait too long…

Will he be just like his Uncle Harry in 20 years time.

A large percentage of our fan base had this mindset over the years when we were there

Nah. Infact , its good that he’s not ready to down shutters. Also will send a message to Derby fans that the mgr isn’t downing tools and leaving them in a very crucial time.

The everton job will always be there for him at a later point… But if he does manages to keep derby in the Championship , he’ll be the first pick for a lot of other clubs which are probably better career wise for him

The other thing I find pretty funny about this is I’m an sure Lampard is a pretty big Tory. Sure he has made comments in the past about him being good mate with David Cameron.

Not exactly going to go down well in the city is it.

Especially when they look across Stanley Park and they see Klopp who is definitely more of a man of the people

The fact he is willing to stick with Derby definitely deserves respect, given the mess they are in (and Everton’s) couldn’t have been easy.

I think considering the situation Derby are in it I’ll give him some credit.

but think how much they will enjoy him telling Klopp to go fuck himself. It’s a match made in heaven

There are players from our recent past who are remembered by many far more fondly than I can get my head around based on what I saw of them and what they won. Players from an era when we didnt win shit but are remembered by a section of the fan base as if they were on a par with Kenny’s best team. Fan’s will take out of a situation whatever makes sense to them and so I dont begrudge any one person having feelings for any player way beyond that they delivered for us, but I do think there is a cognitive dissonance that occurs in fans of a once successful side where your eyes see players who arent up to snuff but your head is so used to the players being good enough to win stuff that an odd connection happens. I think Dunc is from that era for them, and the fact he “bleeds blue” just magnifies it.

It would be my first move to remove Ferguson, got to be better former Everton coaches than him.

Ancelotti was probably the only one with enough clout and not the issues that Rafa had with the crowd.

Thing is they’ve had Rafa and Ancelotti and got worse. Not sure how Lampard improves them without mass reform and that starts in the obvious place and that’s coaching.

As much of a cunt as he is, this IS where the Jose method of ruining the career of one his players comes in handy. For different reasons, but both because they thought simply coaching properly and doing the right things should be enough, neither took on the toxicity that exists in the football club. By not addressing it they let it fester thinking that good football was the answer, possibly not appreciating that one prevented the other.

I dont know that everton really have too many options on whom Frank can pull a Dele. Maybe Richarilson. Maybe Pickford. Beyond that, there is a justifiable case for excluding every single player. So, Bunc Dunc it has to be

I think most of those rats will be hanging onto the driftwood.

Liverpool or Derby, where the granny’s at?

They’ll be made up with him cos he had that touchline barny with Klopp a couple years ago and then started talking shit in the post match presser.

Changed my opinion of him that day.

Thought he was a cunt before, now I know it

They’re in for Van De Beek on loan, apparently. Another Utd reject on his way to Goodison.

I wouldn’t mind him at Anfield to be honest.
