They were a mixed bag under Moyes, finishing top 6 one season bottom half next. He seemed to coach out the goalscoring instincts from his forwards too - but definitely better than what others have done since ( bar Rafa )

Still never understood the Ancelotti appointment.
But that’s about as good as it can be for them which was about 8th. That’s their highest level until they somehow reform the club top to bottom and that includes a fanbase 2 weeks in booing.
Anyhow Wednesday should be fun, under the lights at Doncaster.

I don’t know anything about this guy. Everton aren’t going to get the top level guys even if they overpay. But 30m is a big outlay given their current financial predicament.

Manager was available and was seemingly heading to retirement. His stock was lowest then , just fired at Napoli i think by the mad owner. Ancelotti didn’t think he would get another chance at a top club and possibly took the Everton job to get some last minute big bucks.
