Ibrahima KONATE: 2024/25

If that injury happened ten minutes earlier it might have got a bit more attention.
Player down in distress, a more robust review?

There was something nagging away at the back of my mind and after a bit of research itā€™s come to me.
In 2018 we beat Napoli at Anfield (the Alisson save at the end match) and literally at the final whistle Matip had his shoulder injured when Koulibaly jumped all over him. Put him out for months. I remember thinking at the time it was a totally un-nessasary challenge that went unpunished. Ancelotti was the Napoli manager.
Fast forward a couple of years and VVD and Thiago are injured by reckless challenges in the derby. Both out for months. Ancelotti was Everton manager.
Now we have Konate injured after that fat little cunt injured him right at the end of the game. Ancelotti is the manager.
Co-incidence? I donā€™t think so. I hope the fucking fat, greasy cunt getā€™s hit by a bus.

Its good recall.
But its more than coincidence?

Donā€™t think thereā€™s anything more than that, but of course some things weā€™ll never know.

Iā€™m totally fine with coincidences in life. Itā€™s more in our nature that we must have reasons for everything that happens.

One personā€™s coincidence is anotherā€™s reason to wish for the death of a fellow human being in a road traffic accident.

I think with Endrick it was more of a case of him being an 18 year old forward coming in to a struggling team and trying a bit too hard to impact the game, rather than going out there with the idea of hurting someone intentionally.

I didnā€™t specify it being an accident.

The game was all but over.
At that point its nastiness that drives such a challenge.

I get the 18 year old looking to make an impact, but not really in this instance.
All the academy players we have seen come through at Liverpool, can you honestly think of one who would have committed that type of foul?

In 2005, when we beat Milan, Finnan and Kewellā€¦

I think Iā€™ve seen some comments that he was already like this in Brazil?

Recalls the time Gerrard got sent off around 17 seconds after coming onā€¦

He was probably sitting on the bench watching Konate destroying their strikers and thinking he wasnā€™t going to be bullied. Doubt he meant to intentionally injure him. Some of the comments here are hilarious

Thank you WJ, it means a lot coming from a comedy connoisseur such as yourself.

Was Gerrard 18 at the time?
Noā€¦

You are one of the good guys and I hate disagreeingā€¦
But
Have another look.
Its not good Joe

The one I recall was when he got a red for taking out Kevin Campbell with a waist high tackle in injury time. That was when he was 19ā€¦ so yeah not 18

Weā€™ll never know what his intentions were. Ultimately gutted to lose our brick wall for this busy period

He tried to get between van Dijk and Konate, van Dijk leaned on him and he lost his balance, falling on to Konateā€™s legs.
