It’s in British Columbia, South-West Canada, near the US border. I’ve never been, but it’s supposed to be quite nice.
Weirdly enough, they have the most temperate location of the 3 Canadian MLS clubs, but are the only ones who play in a dome.
Well it would be for Vancouver ![]()
Vancouver’s max/min for January are almost identical to Liverpool’s, and they have the dome, so Vancouver would not be the problem - some of the US Midwestern MLS cities would likely be far worse in late November.
Montreal though is showing no signs of making this an imminent problem for MLS.
Ah I wasn’t aware they had a dome.
Ironically, Columbus might be more temperate than further south Cincinnati in that regard. It snowed earlier this week…and it is all gone here now. It snowed heavier in Cincinnati, and it is still on the ground there.
I went to Vancouver earlier this year. Due to go back next for a family wedding too. Lovely place (as is BC), lots of meth heads downtown!
Not the reason I came to the thread though.
Both Dom and Kerkez starting for Hungary against Armenia at 5pm in the World Cup qualifiers.
Hungary sit 2nd in the group with 5 points. Portugal top on 10 points. Republic of Ireland (4 points) play Portugal later this evening. Ireland could do with 3 points really. Armenia 4th on 3 points.

The ball just didn’t want to go into the goal in the first half. This half, it is awesome football, again!
Man, I feel lucky. It’s a great feeling of pure privilege , getting to follow a national team that actually plays magnificent football. As a Norwegian, I am hardly used to this and far from as blasè as Germand, Spaniards, Portugese, French and Englishmen.
But we have a top team now and we actully play amazing these days.
We score so, so many goals lately ! It’s so awesome. Haaland, best striker in the fucking world, with Sørloth and a player like Ødegaard magnificently dominating in the midddle; ah. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOD!!!
Norsk Regnesentral (Calculating centra) has calculated, prior to this game, that with a 1-0 victory, we would have 99.9.4something chance of reaching the world cup. Given that this was a 4-1 victory, the chance is now significantly higher than 99.94 chance !!!
We can now lose 4-0 to Italy, IF Italy beats Moldova 10-0.
Slightly more realitically, Italy can beat Moldova 6-0, then they have to beat us with more than 6 goals.
But of course, we are not there yet. It can still go wrong. Italy could win 15-0 and then beat us. It’s possible. ![]()
England look pretty good after watching the first half.
I’ve always rated Kane and Rashford looks dangerous since he left that shithole.
Maybe the coach is onto something with the open comments about teamwork. He still reminds me of the great Hans Landa in Inglorious Basterds. Giving ego head Jude a little bench time is a masterstroke.
Update: Italy must beat us with 9 goals after their narrow win over Moldova.
So not a done deal as of yet, just kind of a bit close to the point where some would be a bit surprised if we didn’t go to the WC.
Last time this happened, was when they beat the United States 9-0 in 1948, so absolutely more than technically possible.
Congrats @Magnus it’s locked in.
Meanwhile poor old Ronny won’t get to stat pad against Armenia.
Portugal lost to Ireland. Ronaldo got sent off for an off the ball elbow, given following VAR. As a result, he could be banned for three games and therefore miss the opening two gamas if the World Cup. Foolish.
Suspect Fifa will let things slide though, as Ronaldo playing at the World Cup is good for FIFA. They even bent things to get Messi and Ronaldo at the club world cup. Corrupt fuckers.
“…a bit surprised” is an understatement @Magnus. I appreciate you don’t want to count your chickens, but I would be shocked, nay, stunned if Norway aren’t lining up in 2026.
It’s just my humour, mate. I am not always so serious
I am serious in political threads, but not with everything else ![]()
Congrats mate. Coming out on top of Italy is always satisfying, although they aren’t at their best currently. The rest of the group was obviously weak, but still, the games needed to be won. ![]()
Kante is phenomenal.
You don’t even have to call him up for the majority of qualifiers and friendlies. Call him up only when it’s needed and for tournaments, he appears from Saudi after a while out and he slots in like a duck to water.

Barring an unlikely result v Norway, then Italy still have the playoff option, although they haven’t had much success that way recently (2018 & 2022). Could they miss a third WC on the trot? Unthinkable at one time.
Thank you ! ![]()
Norway has been very good regardless of the strenght of the group in general, though. Not many teams score as many goals. We have scored an obscene amount of goals really. Beyond crazy number.
Normally, you don’t beat the likes of Estonia, Israel or even Moldova, with more than 2-3 goals (anyone) in International Football, unless you play a very good game.
But:
To consistently score that many goals in so many games, is actully very strong.
