We are fairly close. We can pick up plenty of Dutch radio channels but not the TV. Possibly, that’s because we live in a forest.
Edit: Although we also have a satellite dish. I should see what is available.

So next year the September break is three weeks (two weekends) but the October break is gone.
I guess it’s better?
It would be even better if it was all gone forever.
No idea why we need internationals just months after a WC.
(rhetorical flourish!!)
Well it’s later but yeah they’ve combined the two and stuck it towards the 2-3 straddling Sept/oct
Probably be 6 league games and 2 CL in that period. Maybe 7 in a none World Cup year. It’s never going to be honest they should combine November and March as well
Watched it and that was some weird shit, especially the little competition stuff and small sided games at the start. Felt like it was a Pokemon event. Actually felt sorry for the players, especially some of them like Nesta (one of my favourite defenders in my following, but the guy can barely walk anymore).
This is really nice from different national team coaches to congratulate on Zlatko Dalic’s 100 games in charge of Croatia.
It was not positive news all round, least of which for Liverpool and Ryan Gravenberch.
The 23-year-old started as one of two controllers in the Dutch midfield, but was withdrawn at halftime after he told Koeman of a hamstring concern:
“Ryan indicated that he had some minor complaints to his hamstring,” said Koeman during his post-match press conference. “Of course, we didn’t take any risks with that.”
That’s what happens when you overplay football players. But the coaches will never learn, and UEFA/FIFA even less so.
Slot ran Gravenberch into the ground last season, and Koeman should have known that the player needed to be managed carefully. He could have played someone else against mighty Malta, it’s ridiculous.
Alexis Mac Allister is another example… Medical backroom staff just seem to be struggling to get him 100% match fit, and yet here we are with his International manager probably playing him tomorrow for another 90mins :0(
Not sure where best to put this…the CPL final was in Ottawa this evening. As was an early blizzard…
Fabinho back in the Brazil squad.
His last cap was in 2022.
Is this typical of Canada? Or have the snows arrived early?
It is a little early, but not massively so for Ottawa/Montreal. Just really bad luck in having the final scheduled on the day the snows hit. It would be cold but fine today (-2C), once cleared the pitch would be as normal (turf). Two weeks from now would be far more normal to see a major snowfall
Was going say, I assume the season runs to about now, MLS could easily be hit depending on where the final is that year I guess as that runs a few weeks later.
MLS schedules away from the northern clubs to some degree, with Montreal being the extreme - first home match was mid-April, eighth game of a 34-game season. Not sure what they will do in the event a really northern side goes to the finals, in 2019 (last time Toronto won) the final match was November 10, so would have been hit by the same blizzard this past weekend. It now runs to the end of the month.
That said, Canada has hosted in Edmonton in late November, in much colder conditions. It was really the massive snowfall during the match that made this stand out. Driving conditions were extremely poor, and my Sunday league team was short - mainly due to the guys who planned to rush from the end of that match to ours. The Final had at least 4 delays to clear snow from the lines, nearly an hour delay until extra time, and 30 minutes of extra time.
Vancouver could potentially be the host.
Not sure where that is really to be honest.
Vancouver is on the west coast, distance to Montreal is about the same as distance from Montreal to Dublin. It would not be much of a home game.
