January Transfer Window 2021

He is old. Has he played much???

He’s still 25! Not much, no. He was never really a regular starter for Palace. Was nicely rated when he came to England. I think before, he had the transition from a #10 to one of the deeper central midfield roles. But Palace is often such a wrong place for ball playing footballers. Riedewald being another one. I know you also get examples like Lewis Holtby (also highly rated once, but then you realize he’s nothing special and doesn’t manage to stay at the top level), but Meyer was an opportunity on a free and from what I remember, he played on the sides a lot in Hodgson’s compact 4-4-2. Hope he goes back to Germany, picks a side that plays football and revives his career.

Then I must have mixed up with someone. I think some old player from German League came to Premier League.

Mac Meyer was one of the many overhyped players that arrived here from the Bundesliga in recent years. Absolute shite.

They should have opted for Origi.

Read today Palace is working on a loan for JP Mateta from Mainz. 18 month with obligation to buy.

Love it when Palace just put offensive players on a pile (they have 7 at the moment, though Batshuayi is there on loan), but are still coached by Hodgson these last years…

:joy:
