It’s not like Chelsea have a number of proper central midfielders. I also don’t think we should take Tuchel’s first game as a rule what formation he’ll play. It’s one of his advantages, that he can rotate systems; be it from game to game, or during games. Jorginho might get more action again, Kante is a guaranteed starter, Kovacic is there as a proven option as well. But apart from that, I don’t think we can count Mount as a proper central midfielder yet. The most offensive in a midfield 3, then yeah. But it very much depends on the balance and system. We’ll see what other ideas Tuchel has, what can he make of these tools in the second half of the season.

Sigh, that would have been nice one as a quick fix for some of our attacking problems. Always liked him given the fact the first time I’d ever heard of him was when he played against Everton a few years back and tore them to shreds.

I caught the story last night of West Brom offering Nigerian international striker Ahmed Musa a tryout for 6mo contract, but Musa and his representatives completely ghosted Sam and the Club. Date and time of tryout agreed, but no call, never showed, and they haven’t been heard from since. Musa is currently unattached to any club so it’s amusing he doesn’t even want to try out for West Brom. Not the most professional conduct but still amusing.
