The Quanz to step up in the coming weeks.
I would give him game time shame we can not swap Newcastle for Girona and Soton.
Probably needs games that matter less.
Indeed. His issues this season have been lapses of concentration rather than a lack of ability. This is common for players of his age, especially in his position.
He could have a great opportunity to establish himself as an option at CB for us in the coming weeks.
Needs game time in my view.
Quality defender and adapted well with VVD when he was playing alongside him last season. Get that back along with Gomez and I’ll reassess my pessimism
I like him. He’s a player. Just not good enough yet.
He was good enough last season
Yeah, I’ve seen that perspective in a few places now, which I find a bit confusing honestly… the lad played over 30 games last season and was keeping a fit-again Konate out of the team most weeks. He kept his place very much on merit.
Look he’s absolutely shite get on with the programme and start throwing the toys out of the pram!
He kept Konate out of the side at the end of the season, when there wasn’t much to play for anymore and Konate himself wasn’t in great form. Klopp was leaving so he could go “full meritocracy” without needing to give Konate much explanation why. Matip was nowhere to be seen last season (yet a lot of people were calling to give him a new deal, incredible), Gomez was needed mostly in full back positions. Quansah came in, did pretty well. Especially at LCB, more than at RCB. In my opinion, not an elite talent, not without his weaknesses (natural). Signing a new deal was good for both parties, now gotta be a bit patient now and battle in training and whenever on the pitch to earn more, that’s life at the top level. If we have more injuries at full back, then Gomez is needed again there and it might open up more minutes for Quansah at CB.
Revisionism at its finest.
Progressive, accurate passing CB with an outrageously high tackle win %, almost unbeatable on the dribble, likes to bring the ball out defence and does so very effectively and wins over 66% of his aerial duels.
He’s absolutely an elite talent. The best young CB in England.
He’ll continue to make mistakes or need some refinement, he’s 21, but he’s going to be the cornerstone of our defence one day.
I love it when there’s a load of bollocks being spouted and then Sweetie steps in, throws out a few stats and the whole thing is sorted.
The man has spoken, the Quanz is a beast. End of debate.
When AS hauled Q at half-time, it was certainly a ruthless way of getting a message across to the lad… The fact he hasn’t played a full 90 since, to me anyhow, doesn’t mean he cant be trusted to be nursed through a game when needs must.
The fact he is/has been off-radar these past weeks, could just be another way sidelining him to work on the faults of his game that need work… For me he gets the nod tomorrow, and keep Joe as a the more flexible substitute
