Jeremie Frimpong (RB/RWB/RM) Bayer Leverkusen

This is taking forever to get done, what’s the hold up.

I thought we couldn’t announce anything until the transfer window officially opened?

No, but people can make rubbish up year-round.

Could you tell Hughesy to get a move on please Whippy, we don’t want Barca coming back sniffing around.

He lives in the future, tells us what happens in the future, then blames it on VAR when it doesn’t happen in the future.

You can announce it whenever you like, you just can’t register the player until then. Didn’t we announce Ali in like March or April that year?

Kopstar would be having a fit right now if he read this

Good thing with that window opening earlier this won’t drag on officially for long after the season is done.

Also it’s the final day of the German season on Saturday so possibly some movement next week

Said Ibou to Frimpong.

Frimpong does count as homegrown so that’s a huge bonus in his favor. Getting a player of his quality for the release clause price is a bargain.

According to Paul Joyce Liverpool have triggered the clause.
They just need to iron out the contract to sign him, do the medical, and then he can do the Melwood lean!

I’m looking forward to seeing Frimpong as a Liverpool player soon. :star_struck:

Mac Allister wasn’t a hidden gem. He was half the engine room for a strong Brighton midfield and he turned out to be a fantastic buy for Liverpool at his release clause price. Sometimes you just take the talented player for an amazing price and just be glad you got the deal over the line.

Slot has a plan for Frimpong or he would not sanction this move. I have a great deal of optimism to see how this works out for us, I have a feeling many of us will be singing his praises a few months from now. Frimpong also offers us cover for Salah when he goes to AFCON and Bradley can play at fullback during those times when Frimpong is played in an advanced role.

I think he was a hidden bargain. His eventual transfer fee came as a surprise to many.

No. Would have been bad form considering we played Roma in the Champions League semi-finals in May.

Also it would have made the comments from Jürgen about both Ward and Karius getting the chance to compete to be no. 1 a little bizarre…

Regardless, you don’t have to wait until a transfer window opens to announce a signing.

Here’s Virgil being confirmed as a signing before the January transfer window opened, shirt number and all:

Apologies, I wasn’t arguing against your point, I was merely pointing out that the example was incorrect.

Yeah, that’s my brain getting it mixed up with when we started to be heavily linked with Ali lol

I remember the same being said of Shearer’s fee when he signed for Newcastle. Still the top scorer in the post-1993 world, I believe.

But what it it with Strikers? Shearer is a boring idiot. Owen is a dull idiot. Lineker is an over opinionated, self loving idiot……
