Maybe they rated Leonie highly and you can’t take into account the season ending injury he had, it would have been great to see how he would have progressed and developed.
There were multiple factors that complicated the deal for Guehi. Shit happens.
And in general in terms of ignoring certain situtations in defence and especially at CB, I agree.
Joe v Marseille
100% pass completion 39/39, WOW
10 defensive actions 2nd highest, 2 behind big Virg.

Obviously play him v Bournemouth.
Rest him v Qara
Hopefully can play a couple of the big PL matches thereafter before he implodes.
Nallo time!
Our red card champion!
For someone who spent so much of his career here in Trent’s shadow, treated as the attacking downgrade of a RB option, he is sneaky good with the ball. Those 39 passes will have included a fair number of penetrating balls into the midfield, the sort of ball we’ve struggled to find so often this season.
Yep and that is why 100% pass completion is so good, what a player he could have been if not for injuries.
For some reason I thought he is out of contract at the end of the season but he has one year left.
What are we doing? Keep or sell?
The plan last summer was to sell him if we could bring in another CB - there was a deal with AC Milan in place had Guehi joined.
We rejected a loan offer from Palace apparently that would have increased the likelyhood of the Guehi deal going ahead in preference of increasing the chance we could sell Gomez,.
So I suspect the plan will be roughly the same this summer. Sell if we can bring in adequate replacements.
