Will be interesting to see. I think we broke the “rule” twice this season when Matip played 3 in a week. Perhaps it sometimes depends on the days in between, the opponents, the intensity of games, how the player feels, what does the medical team say.
I even suspect Gomez might get a game at CB until the end of the season. I don’t think it will “always” be Konate as the 3rd option. Joe looks physically good now, found a bit of rhythm with games at RB and obviously has experience with Virgil. He does have his weaknesses, but can be good when we need more mobility, pace and ability on the ball.

I think how well Konate has fitted into the team mean Klopp feels very comfortable to manage Matip’s minutes. Konate has dispel all concerns that he is not able to deputize for either of this world class CB pairing. This gives me hope that we can keep Matip fit for us until the end of his current contract. He and VVD would still be our main pairing and Konate will have another season or two to eventually replace them as the main guy. Ridiculous to think we had Matip for free
