Fucking crazy trying to play on. He must be really feeling the weight of the whole club on his shoulders.
Rest up Jordan. You’ve done a mans work. There’s nothing on you.

Even an optimistic six weeks puts it at mid April. Fucking absurd. And people go on about excuses.
To be honest I can’t even get upset anymore, I don’t think he ever fully looked right at the back mind. I think once the defenders were brought in that experiment should have ended, who knows if it would have been if Fabinho would have been fit.
We missed him in midfield, but he looked brilliant at the back. There were a few positional bits from time to time, but on the whole he look like he’d been playing centre back his whole career.
I personally never felt that, felt it took something fundamentally out of our side to be honest.
Him and Fabinho seemed to be the worst pairing mind, nothing I can pinpoint but it just seemed never to look great.
I will be soooooooooooooooooooooo pissed if he is rushed into playing the Euro.
Time to quit international football Jordan to prolong your Liverpool career.
Out till April.
But on the bright side, it means Ingerland can’t fuck him up even more during their clashes with those footballing heavyweights Albania and San Marino next month
Quick question for those with a bit more knowledge than me.
Given we’ve generally flogged these players over the last few seasons, could it be beneficial in the long term that we had a season where most had had lengthy enforced lay offs?
Van Dijk has barely played this season - will this stand him in good stead for the next few years in terms of general fitness, or does the o sort of the rehab etc negate this.
Will Hendo getting what is essentially an extended summer be a good thing in the long term?
I’m not entirely sure. I mean they don’t have to play or train for weeks/months and that’s suppose to do some rejuvenation, physically and mentally. But having such injuries must be a huge mental strain for the players. I don’t think they feel relived until they start playing again.
One thing that confuses me with a long term injury like VVD… the guy from a very early age has played consistently with probably summer breaks lasting a couple of months at most… So in theory, his body has become accustomed to the ‘rhythm’ that practice and playing brings to the body automatically. Getting an injury at his age, does this impact remove his ‘rhythm’ for good as it has taken 20yrs to finely tune it… or is it unlikely his career will be over before his ‘rhythm’ comes back to the way it once was.?
I ask because i’ve read that certain types of dance/rs never recover fully and it shows in their movements.!
the rest of the forums says its definately beneficial.
the only issue is, being injured to get to that point might be like chopping your nose off to spite your face
I think it is a case by case basis depending on the type of injury.
For Hendo, I think it could be a benefit as it is a muscle injury, so providing the treatment and rehab is top notch - which at a club the size of Liverpool it should be I don’t see it being a problem.
I do have major concerns over Van Dijke though, as that was a pretty major injury and the sort of surgery that historically players having this sort of surgery have not always returned to their previous standard, or if they have have taken sometimes 24+ months to get back to the levels they had prior to the injury. I would love to see him back next season but I do have large doubts about his return being that soon, or if it is he won’t be the same player he was last season
I would say alot of times, psychological strength plays a very big part. I take 2 Arsenal players for example. Ramsey and Wilshere. Both had a ridiculous amount of injuries from a young age constantly. Small and big injuries. Ramsey managed to come back and have quite a good career but Wilshere is just wilting away. Another example is Essien, to me was once one of the best CM but after the serious injury, just never the same again. So to me, VVD seems like the kind who is very strong mentally compared to someone like Keita who does not come across as the strong confident kind, but hope I am wrong. Hendo throughout his career has shown to be strong headed and does not accept impossible and digs his heels in everytime things seem to be against him. He will always come back strong.
I’m predicting VvD to return to team training earlier than Hendo. Might even get some minutes before him.
Quarter final are in early/mid April, semi finals are late April/early may. Would be a nice return, maybe with VVD, Joe won’t make it, not sure how long Matip is out.
Wait till he retires like in the old days!
Yeah, kind of freaky to have a testimonial for a current player.
Testimonials used to be for the benefit of the player. Before mega-wages players would often need a bit of cash to start a new business or buy a pub or something after retirement.
Nowadays, players don’t need this, so testimonials become more a case of doing something to recognise a players contribution, with the proceeds going to a charity or cause the player supports. No need for it to be at the end of a career.
Either way, it make no sense to have a testimonial with no fans allowed in. Defeats the entire point of it.
