I remember 10 years ago a former classmate of mine basically called Hendo āa kid who doesnāt know how to fightā.
That did not age well.

i give Kenny alot of credit with the Henderson development, similar in some way to Houllier playing Gerrard at right backā¦Kenny stuck Hendo on the right and persisted even though perhaps his form didnt warrant it at the timeā¦that kind of faith and investment ina young player can pay, and in this case did pay, massive dividends.
had he thrown him in a midfield with Lucas Levia and Stevie G he could have been swallowed up and spat out before he had a chance to wedge his foot in that door.
little things like that, make a massive difference.
very telling that both our recent club captains had a similar path through the team, it shows, in my mind, even at our worst moments we still have a vested interest in player development.
Stevie G probably breaks through regardless at any club, Hendoā¦im not so sure

I like the tilt youāve given this but in reality Henderson was bought to be a right winger with Downing on the left and Adam Central. 3 players who had great stats for playing the kind of balls Carroll would supposedly thrive on. The problem was Commolli looked at Henderson who put up some great Stats, saw him as a CM who could play RM and chose him for our right wing. Without putting 2 and 2 together. Henderson had great stats whilst playing CM, he wasnāt great as a RM. Itās a glaring example of how stats are useless unless used in context.
i still reckon Kenny knew what he wanted to achieve with Jordanā¦ it became ridiculously obvious where Hendo would move centrallyā¦i know alot of people were underwhelmed by Kennys second stint, and i get he wasnt going to rebuild the joint from the ground up, but i reckon he got it 100% spot on with Jordan.
