I don’t think football fans have that level of awareness of how German football is run. They are probably aware that Bayern dominate the Bundesliga, but few seem aware of the 50+1 rule.
I think Jürgen is well respected and liked by fans of rival clubs. Yes, I do know fans from different clubs and they have always had something good to say about Jürgen. When he was Liverpool manager, of course they would complain about Jürgen because Liverpool was the rival team and he was the manager at the time.
The animosity to Red Bull does not exist outside of Germany to any meaningful degree.
Fans of rival clubs are probably just happy Klopp is no longer at Liverpool because we have taken a step backwards as a result. I do think he was broadly liked by the English football public, although of course there exists tribalism in every fan group that would cause others to view him unfavorably.
You know what sparked the fire of belief in me with Klopp? Me meeting my Man United-supporting friend after two years or so and him not being able to wait longer than 15-20 minutes to start absolutely mocking Klopp for taking out his players in front of the Kop at the end of that WBA match. I brushed it off with a smile but I genuinely couldn’t have been happier inside because I knew that moment we were onto something.
“Football is likely to become the background music of an advertising show.” Jürgen Klopp is acerbic about the hydration breaks for the World Cup
On the set of the German channel ZDF, former Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp has blasted the introduction of fresh breaks which, according to him, are only a make-up to be able to place more and more advertisements.
“Football is held hostage by leaders in air-conditioned offices.” On the set of the German TV channel ZDF, Jürgen Klopp was not gentle with the hydration break pauses, novelty of FIFA presented according to him "as a shield for the well-being of the players, a noble sword against the heat". The former Liverpool coach regrets that the latter are in reality *“only a golden cage built for the sponsors.”
Thank you, that Liverpool fans love my compatriot Jurgen. I am be proud, that a German are a legend of a great club outside Germany. But i do not like RB Leipzig. And Jurgen are for me not so sympathic than Arne.
A fan of FC Schalke 04 has asked: ‘How do you become [German] champion?’
Jurgen answered: ‘How am I supposed to explain colour to a blind person?’
