Not the news I wanted to wake up to here in the States, but this day was bound to happen. Don’t get the timing, but there must be a good reason for it. What can be said? Absolute legend and irreplaceable. He fit the club and city perfectly and is today’s greatest manager. I hope Xavi comes, but also hope he is ready for the large step up.
That would be ideal. I fear the lack of continuity and consistency going forward, with also the coaching staff leaving. On the other hand, if he was going to do that, he’d probably have announced it already.
To be fair I think Wenger improved the arse and United were shiter before Slur Alex. Pep well yeah he never improved anything just won the game on cheat mode.
I think the last 5-6 seasons at Wengers time were when the standards started to slip down , gradually at first but pretty drastically in the last 2 seasons atleast.
Credit to him for the invincibles, but he’s stayed on far too long.
Xabi has seen it all as a player and is unlikely to be fazed by the pressure or unaware of what the job means.
He knows the club and the league and is hugely experienced in Europe.
And I was just wondering (and even posted here) on how Klopp’s succeeded in bringing the youngsters to the fore. The number of promising youth that the club has now is insane.
Any manager taking over from Klopp is getting a fucking monster of a side.
