It’s a super weird stat, but there are a couple of dynamics worth remembering. Fab arrived at the same time as Naby who was immediately thrust into the team which took away one of the 3 midfield spots. It took a while for Fab to establish himself and when he did it came initially at the expense of Hendo. When he later came to reassert himself as an 8 he did so somewhat the expense of Gini - remember the most famous Gini performance against Barca was as a half time sub for the injured Robbo (with the preferred Milner dropping back into LB) and fueled by his anger at not being picked.
You then go to the following year when we won the title Matip only played 9 times in the league because of injury, while we got a surprising number of starts from the likes of Ox (17), Origi (7) and Milly (9)

I’m going to call bullshit on this, but can someone else do the fact checking please?
See the post above for how to make sense of it, but I am so bored I might document it later
It is indeed true. That’s from former Opta man Duncan Alexander. Might been on the pitch together more than once but it’s the only game that 11 started.

Fuck. So let me get this straight… two days after Klopp last game… and you (and @Bekloppt) tell me everything I thought it was, was a lie? This team great team only started ONE game!? What next?
Mad isn’t it.
Least they saved it for a decent fixture.

That’s a crazy fact considering
- Alisson was always #1
- Trent, Virgil and Robbo with no competition for their spots
- and the Front3 were basically injury free
That means injuries, that second CB spot and midfield rotation were the main reasons.

Thanks Ifti, I needed that.

Klopp’s Journey to the Kop - LFCTV.
Well worth a watch.
Looks like Klopp is still working for Liverpool.
His main focus seems to be doing interviews.

I like the fact that 70% of viewers (1.2 million) watched Liverpool’s send off for Klopp vs the title being hoisted at the same time. That says a lot. There’s also another video of a guy sitting in his back yard, some ways from Anfield able to hear everything perfectly. Just shows the noise levels, pretty cool.
I just watched Jurgen reading letters from supporters. Some really nice messages, felt really sad again watching that. Some life and death ones in there that got to him. He says it but it must be really weird to read and reflect, I did this! I know he’s said it and I get what he’s saying, the humbleness is part of the reason we all really liked and admired the man. As Rab said earlier it must be a relief, but also its like going cold turkey. Wonder what its like for him now its all stopped so suddenly. Sure he’s doing the odd function here and there, but its 99% less than he was.

Right now, this is a bigger hole than Sagittarius A.

This is such a beautiful tribute from Margaret Aspinall.
This is why Jürgen transcends beyond football.
