Confirmed, also no loan fee and no obligation or any sort of option to buy (according to James Pearce). I think @Mascot was the first to suggest that it might be the case because Robbo would leave next summer and Tsimikas would return to take his place in the squad.

Well… shit move, this. Hopefully we won’t pay that loss of strength in depth too direly at some point in the season. All the best in Italy, Kostas, I’ll miss you.

He looks like he’s on his way to the dentist, to have teeth pulled out! Obviously delighted about leaving.

AS Roma have already agreed to let Kostas Tsimikas leave the club and return to Liverpool next week.

ā€œIt’s true, we are in talks with LFC about thatā€, says director Ricky Massara.

Yippeeeeeee!!

Saw this from reddit. Tsimikas changed his profile picture back to LFC…Note ā€œScouser in Romeā€.

Guess we’ll have him for another year as backup until his contract expires.

It would seem to make sense. I expect we have other priorities.

He’s the nearest player to Robbo..on our books…

That’s not saying much though.

I’m not sure whether he’ll be here next season. Could be question marks over Gomez now with Konate’s news and also Tsimikas. Depends also on the market and the offers. Not everything is in our control.

There were question marks over Gomez last season when it looked likely that Guehi was done. I think that would have been a mistake, and I think it would be a mistake to move him on this summer.

A centre back pool of Virgil, Konate, Leoni and Jaquet looks problematic with Virgil’s age, Konate’s form, and the experience of the other two. Having Gomez as a fifth, able to cover the whole back line (not something to turn our nose up at, considering Bradkey and Frimpong’s issues), home grown and dependable is not something to be sniffed at.

Not only last season though and there are reasons why. Yes, he was useful to have here and there and it will come to an end at some point. And it also depends on what he wants to do and the market. I can’t say for sure that I see Gomez and Tsimikas here next season, that’s what I wanted to say.
